What @elgranpete said... •••••• 🇬🇧 We have a snow storm in New York, but prior to the start of the event it was a good delivery day at Pleasant House, beginning with a stash of product from Conservas Braseadas Güeyumar, in their official appearance at the US market via importers @selectionsdelavina These conservas are the brainchild of Abel Alvarez, chef owner of Restaurante Güeyu Mar in Playa de Vega, Ribadesella, Asturias, where fish and shellfish reach excellence after being subjected to the enchanting effluvia of the embers that Abel handles directly on his beach grill. Through trial and error, over the years Abel acquired a great deal of knowledge about the product, which he always seeks to be pristine and adjusted to his demanding specifications, pampering it carefully from the moment it reaches his hands until it is cooked and placed in front of the diner, including selection, preservation, maturation methods and, of course, the best way to cook them over the fire, which is the other passion in Abel’s professional life. It is a pleasure to submerge into a great product and fire chat every time we visit the restaurant during and after our meals. One of Abel's dreams was to transport that passion to the canning industry, sealing in a can that great treated product touched by the embers that he produces on his grill.
