It's a rare thing to be reminded of the past so vividly, even still in this very odd and confusing time of the gods returning. Maybe he should get used to it, expect such curve balls to be thrown at him, but there's no way he could. No hiding the hint of confusion and surprise in his eyes either despite his unmoving face when the other is brought before him- or would it be that he's brought before the other in this case?
Instinct tells him he should bow his head, to not make eye contact, formalities to observe still ingrained in his mind as if he were still following the old ways. Truly, it takes all of him to not entirely follow these instinct, still a slight jolt that makes him bow his head briefly. He was no general anymore, there was no need to act lower, even if the return of Elgar'nan was here.
❝Aneth ara, elgara.❞
Though the words feel wrong, too casual as one would say now, he tries his best to make it right. They were equal now, no god-kings, no gods, no rank, only one another.
