Heres that redo to the Intro for the Travelers tale. This is not an entry just a reason for someone to read it :3. Ill make sure to re blog for the morning crew seeing as I am posting this hella late. Under the cut! Leave feed back if your inclined and as always. Enjoy!
A few loud thuds brought him out of his readings. He collected his robe and tied it covering up his mostly naked body. He pulled the door open and was greeted by a boy on the other end.
“Is your name Velak?” The mail boy asked him reading the name from an envelope. He nodded back unable to respond in any other fashion.
"Letter for you sir." He handed him it and went on his way with a smile. Velak turned it over in his hands and went back inside. It felt weighty and was wax sealed with the dagger and cog of the ash legion but addressed to him. He sat back at his desk working his finger under the seal and turning it upside down. A heavy bag and a letter slipped out. He picked up the letter and un folded it.
Velak,
I want to start out by saying I miss you and that even with our distance you’re on my mind. I don’t know when I'll be able to come back to you things are all in disarray here in the citadel. I’d like to think that it’ll be soon but there is no guarantees on when. I’ve grown too accustomed to living in peace and quiet amongst you humans. The busy bustle of the citadel really does try on my nerves at times though and it makes me long for our home. Anyway, I’m sending this money to make sure that you have food and can pay for the house while I’m gone. So far I haven’t been in the field, but the Centurion says that’s going to change. I’ll do my best to stay safe my dear for both our sakes. I would be overjoyed to get a reply from you so feel free to write me back.
Your cat,
Rychos
((Velak smiled wearily folding the note up and sticking it in his desk. He lifted himself up and walked over to a large wardrobe finding his armor and cloaks inside. He clad himself sticking the bag underneath his chestplate along with his journal and walked out his door. He smiled to himself feeling light on his feet. He traveled to the markets pricing foods, paper, and other essentials. He picked up what he needed only having to revert to his notepad once. He then traveled to Queensdale, the traders and farmers there always had the best produce and breads. He admired the countryside visiting specific farmers and collected what he needed again. He kept thinking of the letter he received and it helped him keep the mood he was nurturing alive. On his way back he stopped by the palace gardens and finding a good place to sit and enjoy some fruit.)) /Felt like this was rushed maybe?\
He spent hours in the gardens sketching on some of the new paper he obtained practicing to keep his hand sharp. A bush and some flowers grew on the page as he sketched loosely. The sun started to dip below the spires casting shadows across the garden telling him it was time to go home. He crossed the front of the palace trying to think what to have for dinner when he was interrupted by a whistle. It seemed like a group of charr standing around the steps leading to the palace and one was coming towards him.
“Velak!” The charr called out racing towards him, and by then Velak knew it was him. Furry arms wrapped around him lifting his armored form up with ease.
“You got my letter that I was coming thank the legions.” He groaned squeezing the human tight. Velak felt dazed trying to remember the letter he had received earlier. Rychos released him his face a big smile which Velak returned. He fished his note pad and pen out of his pack and wrote.
“Rychos I can’t believe it. Your letter said nothing about you being here today. It came with money and you saying you wouldn’t be home for a long while.” He raised an eyebrow at the charr.
“What? I sent that a week ago. You’re just getting it today?” He looked just as confused.
Velak nodded.
“You’re telling me there was a real chance of missing you today.”
Velak nodded again.
“I’m glad I didn’t then.” He pressed their foreheads together in a show of affection. The sound of laughing flooded in to their tender moment. The other charr were watching and saying things Velak couldn’t make out. Rychos’ ears folded back with a growl and Velak touched his cheek making it die in his throat.
“Don’t worry about them dear. I’m so happy to see you it’s by far the best thing that happened to me today.” He wrote and gave the charr a soft kiss on the nose. The other charr quieted down as they continued watching the two.
“I won’t, and I hate to burst your happiness but I won’t be here for long.” Rychos’ face was filled with disappointment.
“I. Understand.” He wrote slowly. “You have to answer the call of your legion. I’m not going anywhere and they need you.”
“More than you need me though?”
“I’m always going to need you more then the breath in my lungs, but I can’t keep a cat as important as you all tied up forever.” Velak replied. Rychos smiled pressing his head back against Velaks.
“Why are you here anyway my dear cat?” Velak scribbled.
“I came with the warband as the protection for a diplomat from high command. My Legionnaire and him have been talking to queen jenna's advisor for a few hours.” Rychos shrugged. The sounds of shuffling and doors opening drew their attention to the palace. Two charr stepped out and joined the warband, they formed a march and made for the asura gate.
“I need to go.” He sighed softly. “I wish I could take you with me.”
“I wish too but you can’t. You can take a part of me with you though.” Velak wrote.
“What do you mean love?”
Velak loosened a strap on his chest and pulled the journal out from under it.
“No. I can’t take this it’s your prized posession.”
Velak forced it into his hands.
“Please, take it read it. Promise to bring it back safely. With you attached.” Velak smiled softly.
“I. Yes dear you have my words.” Rychos brought it close to his chest in one hand.
“Rychos get in line now!” Barked a deep gruff charr voice as the warband marched by.
“I have to go.” He leaned in close and gave him a sweet kiss. “I love you.”
“Love you too Rychos.” He wrote quickly and watched as the charr reluctantly turned and got into formation. The rest of the charr laughed as the legionnaire scolded him. Velak stood where he was watching them march straight up and into the gate. Rychos was the last one in and turned towards him giving him a wave before stepping through. Velak sighed only ragged air slipping from his lips and headed for home.
As he turned the corner he heard running of booted feet and shouting.
“Mr. Velak! Mr. Velak. I have an urgent note for you sir! I’ve been looking for you all day.” The same kid came running up to him. He handed him it and Velak looked at it.
“Well aren’t you going to open it?” The kid asked.
Velak shook his head and handed the kid some change from todays journey before going into his home.
