☮- How much your muse worries about appearance?
Hiccup’s appearance is a tricky thing for him since he really rides the line of both caring and not caring what he looks like in front of people.
He has a lot of insecurities about himself physically and kind of really craves some kind of validation that he’s desirable in anyway but he also doesn’t want to spend time on his appearance when he gets up in the morning whatsoever. He also doesn’t think that appearances should be so important when he has so many other skills and wants someone to like him as a person and not a pretty face (not that he believes he has one).
So- even with his set stance on personality over appearance- he does still feel like he’s an ugly, undesirable person whom nobody wants to spend their time on romantically and barely wants to spend their time on platonically, but he also won’t do much other than bathe and like slightly run his fingers through his hair so it’s not too messy once it dries and that’s his routine. Though his low self-esteem certainly impacts his complete lack of will to do much about his appearance.
