Darkwaterâs gaze turned to the lake not too far away, immediately taking notice that all of the steps needed to cross the gap from the main island to the treasure room had finally risen from the once calm waters.
With a soft chuckle he returned his attention to Camila.
âAye, any pirate worth his saltâs got treasure. I was savinâ that fer the last stop of the tour.â
He then chugged what was left of his drink and tossed the empty mug at his guard who fumbled to catch it.
âI should warn ya though, there are more puzzles.â
âA grand finishâŚÂ How thrilling⌠Lead the wayâŚâ
Thinking about it, Camila wondered what Darkwaterâs trove might hold. Would it be gold and jewels as it might have been in her homeworld? Or would she find strange trinkets and objects unlike anything back home?Â
The later option filled with a certain amount of eagerness, curious to see the captains loot.
âOh, no need to worry⌠I think I can handle any of your puzzlesâŚâ Of course Camila wouldnât hold back on boasting.
âSplendid! How's about we take the short cut then?â
With a flick of his wrist he gestured for Camila to follow as he ducked under two intertwined palm trees that hid another bridge leading back to the main island. âWe donâ need to be goinâ back the way we came.â He commented as he began to cross.Â
The last thing he wanted was to fall victim to his own trap, especially in front of a guest.Â
Though Angstrom paused once he reached the main island. âDâya see that?â He asked as his optics squinted, focusing on the door of his precious treasure room, he could've sworn he saw it was open.
Without any further explanation he dashed up the steps, uncaring if Camila followed.Â
There was only silence for a few moments, though it was suddenly interrupted by Darkwaterâs scream as it echoed through the cove.
âMY TREASURE!â
