hey gurl, just need to hop in say and you should be proud af of your art and the improvements you've made - your work is absolutely worthy of a tablet upgrade!! every great artist starts out with jank-ass tools; the results you get are dependent on practice, diligence, and technique - but having a high-quality tablet definitely makes the process easier!
& regarding your lag issues, an i3 of at least 2.4 GHz and 8GB of ram should be adequate for running PS and WMP simultaneously - the issues may be caused from your tablet driver or other automatic processes that start with windows. also increasing the resolution of your canvas will incrementally cause lag even if you have a pro workstation, but if you have a decent graphics card you can always dedicate GPU cores to running PS to take the burden off your CPU
First off: thank you so much!!!!!! I eeh...don’t really think I’m any decent at art, but I guess quite a few of y’all don’t agree with me, so that’s both enlightening and heartwarming. Thank you. <3 <3 <3 I think I would have given up on art a long time ago without all y’all supporting my crap lmao. <3 Second: I’m just gonna go with the lag is from some stupid driver issue. The drivers are only supposed to be compatible with XP, so I’m thinking that’s probably what’s up. I’m fine with running Chrome and Adobe Bridge and 700 other things at the same time as PS, so I really don’t think it’s my RAM or processor (even though I do have CPU temperature problems sometimes...happens with a laptop though lol). It doesn’t really bother me because I’ve adapted by using youtube, I just found it really strange. Thanks for all your help though! Computers are stupid. (says the Comp Sci major...)

dude I totally feel u, religion makes me so angry tbh, especially when people interpret religious texts as being literal. AND OMG THE COSMOS HAS ME THINKING SO MUCH TOO, neil degrasse tyson got me connecting with the universe on a spiritual level lol
