Sharing my current hyperfixations, part: uh... x+1?

Big big WIP (again) My take on their looks, based on this fic I'm reading: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40261533/chapters/100845762 by Maltacus. It's a great one seriously give it a read! I will make normal scenes too, as soon as I set up the IK rig and Sylvanas's model. Too many ideas with them and too little time T-T So far I have 14 distinct rangers, plus my OC whom I will not put in any of the renders with them for lore reasons

Count on how many times I've mistaken Kitala for Kalira: 8

Anya, Clea, Kitala and Lyana. Everyone got hoods and masks (and the hair doesn't clip through it yay!)

My Dread Lady, Warcraft 3/WoW fanfiction

I started a fanfiction story taking place by the end of Warcarft the Frozen Throne and start of wow, featuring the forsaken and theramoore and the respective main characters of each realm, as well as a couple of original ones. Posted on Archive Of Our Own, linked above.

It's not going well so far though, I am getting hardly anyone commenting (2 on 8k words). I would be very interested if someone had any pointers about what I'm doing wrong in that regard. Script? Writing style? Tags? Timing (did shadowlands kill the fandom?)?

Ch. 39 - Jaina, Vanessa

"Affectionate." The word is not a question when it leaves Sylvanas' lips, stubbornly catching on her fangs. She looks very different now than she did aboard the Admiral's Pride, gently settling the Swan Feather Cape on Jaina's shoulders to keep her from the cold. Her gaze is harsh, displeased, a touch nervous. She continues, lowering her voice, "Your captains understand that this is a political marriage? That this wasn't some courtship you had the freedom to choose?"

I’m trying to get my butt to post a bit more even if it’s unfinished stuff. I love sketching, I ADORE sketching. I have so many sketches that I like just as sketches and I never share any of it haha. So I decided to share a bit of my exploration trying to get a feel for Sylvanas, Velonara and Lireesa from in the mourning (by @uninspired--poet )

I struggle with keeping characters consistent looking when I’m not familiar with them (and even then haha..) so onward to a lot of sketching to get to understand every wow character I want to draw.

“There you go.” Sylvanas grinned as she positioned Vereesa’s elbow in a way that allowed her more control over the little bow she’d been shooting all morning. “Now. Always push towards your target. Draw to your eye, don’t lean into it. Relax your right arm.”

Vereesa groaned as she released the tension on your bow and turned the frustration in her expression towards her sister’s sympathetic gaze. “What is it, Little Moon?”

“How am I supposed to relax my right arm?” She demanded. “When that’s the arm doing all the pulling?”

“Stop pulling so much and start pushing. The most important thing your right arm is doing is pulling that nock to your eye. Once you get that down, nothing else is going to matter. You’ll be able to shoot from any position, even running. Even jumping. Let your right hand and your right arm be comfortable. Relaxed. Your left strong and steady. That’s what’s holding the tip of your arrow where it needs to be.”

Ranger Captain Loralen looked at the disheveled, panting group of young women in front of her - some of them bent with their hands on their knees and some of them halfway to the ground in their exhaustion as she walked along the messy line they’d made. “Every one of you could have run that faster. We are elves. Not dwarves. Not snails. And you…” She paused in front of Sylvanas - who was standing perfectly still at attention with only a faint sheen of sweat on her brow. “You look as though you didn’t even try. Explain yourself.”

“With due respect, I am only as fast as the slowest Ranger in my unit, Captain. It would do me no good to lose them behind me and have to turn back for them.” This gave the Captain pause and she tilted her head as she looked into the eyes of the girl who was the most promising of any group she’d ever worked with.

“See that they become faster then, recruit. See that they do not slow you down.” Her voice retained the same harshness of edge - of stern, disconnected authority. But there was a faintly impressed smile playing about her lips.

“Of course, Captain.”
