Violet: [smiling] Yes, Junie-- ha ha-- I felt on my berry butt. I get it. You can stop now.
June: [laughing] No way, Vi! I’m savoring this moment.
Violet: Junie, c’mon! Help me get up. There’s one more stop on our itinerary before we leave and we can’t miss it.
When I’m lying next to her why is it that I still think of you?
Why is it always in the dead of night, when I’m restless and cannot sleep, that I wonder where did it all go wrong?
Violet: Don’t worry, Junie. You’ll thank me later.
June: Yeah, if Grey doesn’t find out that is…
Violet: He’s never around. And besides if he does, I’ll say it was my idea. I think he likes me.
Downtown, Waterlily Creek - 1:10 PM
June: I can’t believe I let you talk me into this...
To June’s amazement, Violet had actually managed to somehow convince his grandmother, Ivory (of all people), to let him skip his lessons for the day, something that not him, or even his older sister May, ever managed to pull off easily without at least some good reasoning to back them up.
She had allowed them to go out, but only under the condition that they would both return home before night fall.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Ivory would had let them go, had Violet been honest of where they would be heading...
Newcress Train Station - 12:39 PM
Violet: Junie, hurry up! We’re going to miss the next train!!
June: I am trying, Violet, but you’re dragging me!
Violet: Then keep up!
