Alice: If you could become a character in any piece of literature, who would you choose, and why?
If Lily could be any character in any literature, she would have a hard time choosing just one. The darkness in her says to pick Lucy Westenra, turned into a vampire by Dracula himself. The ignored daughter says to pick Carrie from the book of the same name for the powers. Other times she simply wishes to be Frankenstein, to create things that others find horrific. There is simply no right answer.
Soledad: Do you believe in the idea that behind every great man is an even greater woman?
To Lily, it truly depends on the people. Sometimes, in her opinion, a man needs a great woman beside him to accomplish anything, sometimes, the man can be great on his own, and other times, they’re both awful and it doesn’t matter.
Bella: If you could bring any one of your dreams to life, which would it be?
Lily would bring to life her dream of having her mother praise her as a child, to compliment her without having some backhanded comment to tack on the end.
Priya:What does ‘beauty’ mean to you?
Beauty is darkness, horror, the ability to walk into a dark room and feel cold breath on your neck and not feel anything but giddy excitement. Beauty is wilted roses and dripping black paint, it is enchanting and broken. Beauty is undying friendship, stars and love reciprocated. Beauty is unattainable.
