Do you guys ever wonder why there are no ymbrynes in America? I honestly don't remember if the books explain this, but I don't think they do

Also, do you wonder where Velya came from in that case? I have a headcanon that she was a refugee rescued by Abe, but he thought it was better not to send her to a loop. Instead, he asked Miss Avocet to train her and let her live on her own, since the peculiar gangs would probably fight over her peculiarity to have a ymbryne among them, just like they did with Noor
