She hadn’t been looking for him. Not specifically. She’d been walking the city, pink parasol in one gloved hand as the sun was starting to go down. She looked elegant if somewhat insane, as usual. Talking walks in strange places was a favorite past time of hers. Inspiration came from all places, especially the ones no on looked.
The scent had caught her attention and she’d wandered, curious to see where it led. It was sharp, more than a human. More than... something, that was for sure. Strange, after all these years, to find something she couldn’t quite identify...
And then she’d turned a corner and there he was. She hadn’t been expecting a man. Undoubtedly he was more than he appeared, as she was, but still. The packaging didn’t tell her much.
“Oh! You’re a new one,” she said, cocking her head with sheer curiosity and delight. A small, lazy smile came to her face. New things were always fascinating. But... sometimes they were dangerous too. The trick was figuring out if the danger weighed out the fascination. “I thought I knew every monster in town, but I guess I missed a few.”
