Over the last two weeks I have
Been rejected from another job (still unemployed woo)
Had my (divorced and moved out) dad come into my room and wake me up to tell me I'm not trying hard enough to get a job (it was 9am)
Had my (divorced and moved out) dad come into my room to wake me up and tell me that he changed his mind and he didn't want this desk so it's mine now (???) and I can keep any of the money I make from it (which would be cool if it was worth any money and not falling apart and if TAKING THE DESK WASN'T IN THE DIVORCE DECREE)
Taken my mom to the doctor for a check-up where she massively failed a cognitive test & the doc is worries she's borderline early onset dementia
Had to fill out a medical POA doc with my mom
One of my snakes died & we buried it outside only to realize too late that (1) whenever we buried pets, either the pet would be cremated or my dad would dig a massive fuck-off hole and anyway something dug up & stole my snake's body
It's so absurd it's kind of hilarious ngl
Taken my mom to the audiologist to have her hearing tested and find out her hearing is SHIT and as soon as she had the tester hearing aids in she answered one of the questions she failed on the cognitive test & now I'm left wondering if she failed the test because she is borderline EOD or if it was because she couldn't hear the questions
Had my mom argue that she doesn't see the point in getting hearing aids because "she doesn't think anything is wrong" despite me pointing out multiple times that she failed the cognitive test and then was able to answer the one question I remembered immediately with the hearing aids in
"What state is Chicago in?" was the question
She doesn't remember failing it/the question
I genuinely don't know if it's memory issues or hearing issues but it's frustrating because it's like.... Mom.... This is your hearing chart.... This is your doctor's prescription.... The ladies in your family have all historically needed hearing aids....... Your brother (and maybe more than one? IDK) need hearing aids.......... Please mother.......
Had my mom point out that she doesn't have money for hearing aids (this one is valid) because even with medicare or w/e she has they're $1000 for them. (She might be getting the money soon because of the divorce settlement though.)
Had my dad throw a fit because he "finished moving out" except when we checked his room, there were dirty dishes, a dirty fridge, raisins, and a bunch of other stuff
Also I'm still unemployed & I'm getting towards 6 months of unemployment which is. Fine. I'm fine.
AND THEN ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE [waves at politics]
....It's been a rough two weeks. That's all I'm saying.
On the plus side, I got to pet some dogs yesterday. That was nice.
