A few things to consider before critiquing a fanwork...
Did the creator ask for a critique?
No? You probably shouldn’t critique it.
But it’s art - and critiques are a valuable part of it!
Fanwork is a free-time pursuit. No one is paid to make it. A lot of people (myself included), use fanwork as a space to escape and explore things outside of the normal confines of our professional work, simply for the pleasure of making people happy and feeling an important and often treasured sense affirmation and confidence that can be carried into other more professional pursuits.
Is what you dislike objective or subjective?
Have a technical qualm you’d like addressed? Probably fine. Disagree with something as objective as character choices or plot directions? Trickier... The whole point of fanwork is to have the freedom to explore different shades and colors of characters and stories. If someone didn’t pick a shade you liked, that’s the nature of the beast. Don’t like it? Don’t consume it.
Is your critique going to make any difference?
What do you expect to come out of your critique? Do you think a creator is going to recreate their entire work to appeal to your difference in opinion? No? Then why put it out there?
Is it causing you or others distinct harm?
I once wrote a story that had derisive depictions of body types in one scene. Someone critiqued it and pointed this out to me. I appreciate that, adjusted, and will never write things in that way again. There’s a difference between pointing out biases and having different interpretations of material.

No but seriously don't smite people for using obscure slurs. A lot of us here are like 14-17 year olds who have no idea what certain identities or races go through, or that certain identities even exist.
Someone I actually used to be really good friends with lashed out at me in mid-debate for apparently using racial slurs I didn't even know were slurs. I thought I was being really careful, I was using the term "POC" (which I thought was the right thing to do; maybe I was wrong) and trying to be really respectful and calm. But nooo, first thing she says is "DON'T USE RACIAL SLURS WTF". I. Didn't. Know. They. Were. Slurs. Whatever. It. Was. I. Said. (I don't even know what it was I said that was offensive; she didn't tell me)
Stop assuming everyone's doing it to trigger you or make you feel shitty. Sometimes people just don't know any better. There are assholes who won't try to correct themselves after you teach them, sure, but for the most part we really don't mean any harm. Stop having such a black-and-white mentality and get over yourselves. Stop assuming everyone who isn't you is the bad guy and teach us something so we can stop hurting you.
And unfortunately darling, it is all your fault.
