Nothing instantly makes my day terrible than seeing genuinely curious people ask for opinions on Twisted Wonderland and people WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED IT, describe is as the most depraved fucking gooner yaoi game in the entire history of mankind. When it's one of the tamest game a person could possibly play. And you check the commenter's profile and it's a guy who plays fucking Nikke.

I hate it when straight guys use joseimuke games to demonize women's interests or shame them. So men are allowed to eye-rape women with inflated breasts and their asses sucking the souls out of their skimpy bikinis, but god forbid women feel cute when a guy with horns and completely covered from head to toe tell her he enjoys her company?

And when it's a fellow woman criticizing this game, it's always "oh they twinkified Iago ew. Don't play this shitty ass game, everyone is a generic sexualized twink. 🤢"

First of all, IAGO IS NOT IN THE FUCKING GAME. You hardly have the authority to criticize something you know jack shit about. Second, people are allowed to like slim men. Third, there's ZERO sexualization in the game. Everyone is treated respectfully and the "skin fanservice" don't at all look out of place nor do they look forced into it, unlike some game where every woman needs to have their armpits aired out.

Last of all, the fuck you mean GENERIC? Anyone who thinks twst's design is generic must be the most artistically-challenged individual the world has ever popped out of its womb. You can literally tell them apart by their eyes only. What a shame to be born so deprived of sapient eyesight that a dog could inherit it instead and make more objective criticisms.

Warning: brutally honest and biased

The only characters I simp for in an unholy way in this game are Malleus and Leona.

When Malleus fumbles a card, he would at least look cute in a pathetic kind of way instead of his usual seductive hot. But when Leona fumbles a card (the Michael Jackson one), he has the sex appeal of a Fisher Price Laugh-and-Learn Puppy.

You need a certain amount of delusion to find that remotedly hot. I think I need more practice.

I don't know if it's just people being unapologetic weeabs but I really don't get why the idea of "english dub bad japanese sugoi" is still so prevalent to this day. English voice actors are not inherently inferior. There are such cases where the English acting is considered better by most people (Arataki Itto), as much as there are cases of the other way around (Dori).

Saying "oh I'm already used to their voices in Japanese so it'll probably take time to get used to, if at all" is perfectly acceptable. But seeing people using 🤢 emojis or absolutely ridiculing the very idea of EN actors is an outdated opinion tbh. To each their own I suppose, but these actors are legitimate people with legitimate passion for their work, so I don't think it's fair to dismiss them so quickly and so rudely just because they speak English.

But putting that aside, what's even weirder in this whole twst EN dub discourse is a minority of people spiting the thought of the actors having accents that aren't the "default" American. Because I hope they know that the US isn't the only place in the world. English is considered the lingua franca of the world, so many countries have adopted it into their culture as a main or second language while mixing in the country's native accent in their manner of speaking.

There's absolutely nothing odd, and it's objectively more appropriate, about the concept of the characters from Lion King having an African accent. Or the Queendom of Hearts having a British accent, because it gives us an idea of the uniqueness in culture in their world. Language is a huge part of humanity, so I hope we all develop an open mind so we can enjoy the artistry of different cultures depicted so heartfully through spoken dialogue.

Of course, pragmatically speaking, it also can't be helped if we do end up not getting varied accents. That's just economical decisions at work.

How it feels when I make the mistake of looking at twsttwt and see people complaining about shit they hate while I enjoy literally everything twst throws at me because I have the critical thinking capacity of a 4-year old

Like what do you mean there are gender headcanon wars between fans? Why would people even fight about personal headcanons? Has the existence of people who want to fuck a female malleus with huge tits killed anyone?

I don't understand why people are so angry with shipping oml. You literally can just ignore them?? Tf you mean you have a seething hatred for Malleyuu slop that you want malleyuu fans to disintegrate. Just ignore him? I ignored Skully's yumebait bc I'm not interested in romantically relating him with my Yuu. Doesn't prevent me from appreciating his character either.

"Omg I hate it when x just becomes an accessory for this other ship" my brother and sister, don't read another ship's fics? If you're not reading an entire novel where everyone's character development is a requirement, a romantic fanfic will likely only revolve around the two characters being shipped. Everyone is an accessory to push them together. And as I've said, people indulging in writing their own fics and posting in their own accounts will not kill anyone.

"Omg stop making fun of x's __ flaw" obviously this varies by severity, but for some mental illnesses, tbh some people make fun of them because it reminds them of themselves. Personally I make fun of Idia's struggles because I suffer from severe anxiety. It's a way for me to be self-aware that it's an illness that should not be romanticized nor babyfied, and that it's something I need to change because it's actively harming my life. Turning problems into a comedy for yourself is a perfectly valid way to turn a behemoth into easy opponents to handle. Because refusing to battle it by reducing it to "oh poor thing why are people being so mean to you you're just a little baby" is wallowing in self-pity and subconsciously telling yourself that it's ok to swim in your own poison forever.

I haven't been online much because I've been busy with life, but seeing shit on fire again for no reason reminds me why I'm so grateful to be constantly touching grass lol. The following is a self-reassurance so apologies if I sound arrogant, but I genuinely feel blessed to have friends I can go out with on weekends, to have a loving partner to play coop games with everyday, to have siblings who look out for me, to have a humble but fulfilling career, and to have creative hobbies that give my life meaning.

Maybe I'm being presumptuous by saying this, but I feel like many people who spend their time being negative on the internet aren't very happy with their personal lives. If we constantly surround ourselves with happy people and happy things, I think we would see most things in a better light.

Twst is such a cute little game with just enough seriousness to spread awareness, so not taking the opportunity to appreciate it as it is is such a shame. I mean obviously criticisms about the game itself is perfectly valid, but I don't think we need criticize how other, real people enjoy the game too.

How to depict breaking gender stereotypes the right way: ✅ Twst showing by action that men in Twisted Wonderland find it normal to put on makeup. Nobody comments on their preferences.

How to depict it the wrong way: ❌ Cringe ass books explicitly repeating how much the mc dislikes wearing dresses because she's a strong independent woman and frilly skirts are for helpless little girls.

I think books should normalize just casually saying that the girl wore a suit to the ball-- she just likes pants and nothing else. Stop narrating how annoying a goddamn gown is. Just because a woman likes dresses doesn't suggest she's weak.
