hmm ok lets see... personally i dont really like the fanon interpretation of his character as a grumpy grandpa or some reddit mod esq "im so much smarter than you" type. he can be those things, certainly, but even looking at canon material, im not totally sure where this idea came from. i could be missing something? but even then its not like a concern myself with being canon accurate LMAO

anyways yeah, my AU doc or whatever u wanna call him. he puts on this front of being detached from everything and everyone around him so that perceived weakness cant be taken advantage of. he tries not to get attached to his teammates or the people working for him because he knows by now the most likely outcome is that it will end in him having to pull himself out of a depressive and grief-filled rut. that doesnt mean hes completely unempathetic though.

he actually does get attached really easily, way easier than he would ever admit. he grew up wanting to be a doctor so he has the urge to help people, yknow? but now that hes. here. he can only do it when its convenient for him, and he feels so awful and ashamed of it, but what else is there to do? (a lot of this specific idea plays into my version of the arena mode player. theyre basically an oc atp LMAO. but cell is worth a whole other post because theyre just. grhgrhrgrg theyre very complicated :) ). but i do also wanna say that just cus doc does care deep down doesnt mean i think its healthy! this isnt a sitcom where its whats deep down that matters! actions mean a lot more than intent yknow? doc is a little shit for trying intentionally to make the people around him feel uncared for just cus hes worried about his ego!!!!

but yeah, so even if he barely shows it or will admit it to himself, doc does care deeply for the rest of sq, but it still kinda sucks. later along when doc, hank, sanford and deimos all feel more like a solid team, doc does start to consider them friends (or more), even if he cant put the word to it. obvi im #1 2bhanker, so he starts falling for hank, for too many reasons to get into right now. just know they love each other so so much in my heart. idc what anyone else says, 2bhank could be just as healthy as people make sanmos. toxic yaoi erm NOT 2DAY!!!! then theres deimos... SIGH.

deimos in my AU is ex-aahw, like in dubious canon, but also phobos' little brother. made as a clone with part of phobos' s3lf to make an adequate heir to nexus. but he wasnt treated like a person, but like a *thing*. he was an asset, he was something phobos owned, and he made sure at every opportunity to let deimos know that. he wanted to get away so bad, so when a mysterious doctor fled, deimos took it as an inspiration to dissent too. deimos went looking for this doctor (the person doc was before he called himself 2bdamned) but never found him. doc changed a lot after dissenting, so deimos didnt recognize him when doc told deimos to join sq (cus whos gonna pass up having phobos' weird little brother on their team?). deimos agrees and eventually gives up on ever finding that doctor (but doc does tell deimos at some point he wasnt just some guy at the agency, he was *that* doctor). and cus doc took him in and offered him a decent living situation, deimos imprinted like a baby duckling. he was a grown man at this point, but he deeply missed what little brotherly/fatherly affection phobos gave him, so he sorta defaulted to seeking it in doc. and because of deimos' past in the agency and how they particularly fucked them two over, doc saw a lot of his younger self in deimos and so got protective over him. adoptive brothers yayyyh. to simplify though, deimos is the annoying younger brother whos always ribbing you somehow and doc is the cold and stern older brother who kinda babys you cus he thinks youll be better off he does something for you. they care for each other a lot, it just shows in unique ways!

THATS ENOUGH ABOUT DEIMOS THOUGH. truthfully i dont have much for sanford in terms of his relationship with doc, but i think theyd be good friends. hank and deimos can be loud and aggravating so i think doc and sanford would enjoy each others company since it can be rather calming. i think they can just sit in a peaceful silence and be content. i do think itd be cute if sanford used to call doc "sir" when it was way more professional, but hes kept the habit and now just calls doc sir for fun. i think doc would like feeling important enough still to sanford that hes kept the nickname

i think thats... about all i have for general headcanons? or character analysis. idk what youd call it since i wrote uhm. like 80% of this GEHEHEHEH. but ya u can ask more specific questions if u have any... id love 2 answer.........

i was talking about judas associating with a loud and proud proshipper. im concerned over the rampant sexualization of children and the normalization of that in that community. actual braindead behavior if you think i care about bad people doing bad shit in media, i care about it being portrayed inaccurately and like its a good thing. this is such a two dimensional view on what i was actually saying, but i guess this dumbass just wanted a reason to get on its high horse and vague about me. crucify me over not wanting kids to be groomed cus they think proshipping is ok i guess. because that is the outcome of the cesspit that is the proshipping community

lemme say it again for the people who wanna act like im clutching my pearls over toxic yaoi: proshippers put abusive relationship dynamics on pedestals and act like adult x child relationships are normal and something to be "shipped". and calling yourself a proshipper is saying youre fine with that. the label has changed in how its used and im going to rip apart proshippers with my teeth. do not flatten me into the villain all proshippers squeal in glee about, because i DO NOT CARE if you are writing/discussing a toxic/abusive/manipulative relationship AS LONG AS YOU ARE DOING IT CORRECTLY. and proshippers are FAMOUS for not doing that. fuck you judas im sad i wasted my time on you

i think. an easy way to characterize doc is to understand he so deeply wants control of everything around him in arms reach and then some. and then to take that need for control and ask "if he does xyz action, will that control be compromised in his mind?"

he genuinely has so much to lose if he is not feared and respected, his entire organization basically crumbles if they are not taken seriously. so every action, thing he says, people he associates with, would be considered in his mind of taking away his control.

which, then, leads into him doing stuff that *would* compromise control. cus yknow. basic character writing. define a flaw and make them subvert it. not to put on my 2bhank hat, but him "stooping low" as to open up emotionally and actually. yknow. date one of his little goons. would call into question what the public would think of him. even if you dont think there are homophobic ideals in nevadas society, it still applies because its such an obvious weak point, a liability to feel genuine emotions in such a cruel world

i think its so meaningful, in the eyes of a 2bhank context, that doc is willing to give up so much perceived power just to be with hank. doc would not make himself so obviously vulnerable, if that information ever got out, if he did not truly care about hank

though not exactly the same thing, i have pondered a "what if doc died?" scenario, so ill salvage parts of that for this. context being 2bhank obviously

i think hank would be more of a literal field medic than the guy you go to after the fights over. he doesnt do good work perhaps, but its good enough while still in danger. i think his fighting style is largely unchanged, just because i cant imagine a hank who doesnt fight. i think hed act more so like how deimos does in his and sanford's first episode; wrapping bandages on people while therye still engaged in combat. also i think itd be cute if hank wore a little cropped jacket with fur like doc's

doc, however. hm. hes quite the case methinks. though its never directly said so in the series or games (as far as i know), its shown that hank jumps immediately into a fight without hesitation, at least in my opinion. so i think a good inverse and accurate to his character is that doc would be a silent killer type. take his sniping abilities and turn them to the max, without him panicking and scrambling while in combat. hed be excessively clean, calculated, practically playing out fights in his head like a game of chess before ever engaging, just so hes never caught off guard. could be that he does this as hes still not as physically strong as hank, but im spitballing. doc could also wear a hood and cape-like coat, im thinking almost batman like (a lot of this so far as been built on the few bits of gameplay ive seen of the arkham games' stealth sections, i think hed do a lot of that)

i think theyd still work together, if not better since theyd both be on the scene fighting at the same time. whatever tsundere scenes you can imagine of doc taking care of hank, just inverse that with them. i can totally see doc getting caught off guard and getting his ass handed to him and hank's smugly healing him or whatever
