MG Nu Gundam Ver Ka, with the Rage Nucleon backpack, resin parts, and some other bits from my box of extra parts.

Probably my favorite project yet! I LOVE the green, and getting to work with resin parts and 3rd party additions really added to the experience. Now to find somewhere to put it..,,,.,.

MG Victory 2 Ver Ka

I finished up my Victory 2 Ver. Ka. It was my first go at water decals and top coating. I’m pretty proud of how it came out even with its flaws. It’s a super nice kit for shelf presence once you add the wing options kit (p-bandai).

I had a great time building it and I loved posing it on the stand to get the flyby pose looking good. I would rate this as an 8/10 for display and a 4/10 if you want to play with it. While it has a lot of poseability, it will fight you a little. Especially when just box built. But once again for shelf presence, it’s one of my favorite kits I’ve seen. The giant triangle wings really make it stand out.

I really like this kit! That being said, I wouldn’t recommend this one unless the V2 specifically is your jam. It had some really annoying parts.

The arms have a notoriously bad c-clip in them. One side broke on me and I ended up reinforcing the other. I used wire again for this as I love it for structural fixes. Here’s the extent of that externally

The waist is optimized for transforming. This makes it less solid than I was wanting. I ended up wiring mine static to always be in gundam mode.

I also found the hip to leg joints to be loose because of the polycaps. Luckily this was fixed when I clear coated the kit. It tightened them right up.

There’s also a small gripe that the hand doesn’t have a peg for the gun but, I think the hook on the fingy works fine for display. Not so much play

Amuro Ray gets Cask of Amontillado'd into the MG Ver Ka Hi-ν (SUPPLEMENTAL to: Gunpla: Completed Collection of Minis Part 1: EFSF Alliance)

First we start with the boy:

Then we put him in his little seat:

Then he becomes entombed in The Sphere: (below the cut)

The little sphere sits in the Inner Frame:

and the outer frame gets assembled (and yes i see the decal that has fallen off, such is life; this was before i used Mr. Softer and Mr. Setter)

We can still see him from above

And then the outer armor is complete, and we shut the hatch:
