i've been putting some thought into what team bridge played for when she was still in the pros and was curious as to whether or not you have too with vera. was there a certain team that she played for, and if so what were there colors? what position/number was she?

Vera never actually went pro! She played in high school, and for one season she played on Harvard's baseball team while she attended law school for her 2 semesters. After that, she played with an amateur women's league. She probably could have pursued pro, but she had other responsibilities, and after she quit law school and her housing and financial situation got unstable, having a steady job was more important than maybe being a pro player.

She was mainly a pitcher, and a good outfielder. Batting wasn't her best, but she could run like a bat out of hell. Colors were green and white, and her number was 62.

Does your OC hold grudges? How good are they at letting things go? Do they believe in second chances?

For Red - Red holds grudges like a motherfucker, but they're usually petty grudges. They beef with Arcade because he said something rude to them upon first meeting, but don't really gaf about Benny shooting them in the head. Red does believe in second chances (cause like... Honestly if they didn't, where would it get them?) but it takes them a bit of growth to accept that.

If your OC had to kill someone, how would they do it? If killing is a near-daily occurrence to them, what is their preferred method?

For Luthen - close quarters. He's not above using his hands or his teeth (although he really really prefers not to bite, he will if he's gotta). While he isn't a violent man, he's very accustomed to it, and he does find himself having to kill people often, and he's versatile, but he doesn't really like using guns or ranged weapons.

How easily influenced by others is your OC?

For Vera - Vera is super stubborn, and it takes a lot of convincing to get her to do anything, but once you get over the initial hump, it gets a lot easier. It's why she goes along with the BOS for so long, despite her reservations.

How does your OC remember their childhood? Is this an accurate reflection of what their childhood was actually like?

Vera remembers being alone, mostly. She never really made friends easily, and after her mother died and she moved across the country to live with her estranged father, she abandoned the few connections she had. She and her father didn't really connect, and though she has an older brother, they had a significant age gap and weren't close at all. She had few friends, mostly just acquaintances and people she was friendly with. She was mostly ok with this, but part of that was because she had aonfew genuine connections or was one of those "hard to miss something you don't have" scenarios.

If your OC could revisit their childhood, what would they want to change about it, if anything at all?

She would spend a lot more time with her mother, would attempt a better relationship with her dad, and would skip her token year of law school

What does your OC carry around in their pockets? What about their bag?

Ahh this would be such a fun one to draw but I'm at work 💔

17. Where were they born? 

Vera was born in Los Angeles, the youngest of 2.

23. Do they get lonely easily?

Not really! She was always kind of a loner and didn't make friends easily. Even as an adult, her social circle was pretty small and not comprised of many close friends. It wasn't until post war that she really found a family.

56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things they’re around or a perfume they wear?)

Vera is very fastidious and makes it a point to stay clean, so she just smells like soap. Particularly hubflower soap, which I imagine to have a subtle floral, spicy and medicinal smell. And abraxo.

75. If given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?

Vera has a bit of skill as a draftsman and can draw pretty decent blueprints and architectural plans, so she would probably start doodling a floorplan lmfao

5- what visions or hopes do they have for their relationship

I don't think Danse has many expectations about their relationship beyond just... simple companionship? He yearns for something steadfast and simple and confident. They can weather anything as long as they're together, and his and Vera's relationship is pretty rock solid. Vera is much the same. She doesn't care about things like marriage anymore, she just wants someone with whom she can feel secure. She's a very different person than who she was when she came out of the vault, and the things she wanted then no longer apply. Danse is also a very different man than, say, Nathan. With Nathan, Vera felt like she was supposed to be a wife and mother. With Danse, Vera feels like she can just be herself, even as she changes and rediscovers who that is over the years.

16- how accepted is their relationship by their community and loved ones

It's pretty accepted, although there are a handful of people who are like.... girl are you sure? Hancock is one of them. Deacon is another, although he's a lot subtler in his critiques than Hancock. Among the BOS, their relationship is under a lot more scruitiny considering he's her superior, and after BB, there's a general air of 1. how did you not know 2. how could you still have feelings for a machine? (but that doesnt last too long since Vera leaves the BOS soon after).

One rumor that could be either nasty or good natured depending on who you ask - she and hancock have slept together. snopes fact check confirmed ✅ true

🧠 Talk about your OCs mental health! Do they have any specific triggers or ways to practice self care? What are some things that are more difficult for them to do because of their mental health?

After Shaun was born, Vera had some really bad postpartum depression. Nathan's mother stayed with them for a few months, and while she and Vera didn't really get along, Vera knows that without her, something very bad might well have happened. Her depression worsens after leaving the vault which results in some suicidal ideation (and what could reasonably be called a suicide attempt) but Vera eventually realizes she has to persevere in order to do right by Shaun and Nathan. Vera also develops some pretty severe claustrophobia as a result of being locked in the cryo pod, which doesn't usually affect her, but being underground makes her uneasy, and in enclosed spaces she can get panic attacks.
