Flesh and Blood recently did this thing where they printed segments of card arts on the back of tokens to form a little puzzle that forms the full artwork of one of the heroes. Most of those puzzle pieces are like, not too expensive, bulk basically, they're on tokens. Maybe a buck if you're lucky and get a head piece
However this one I pulled today was worth more than the pack I pulled it in, because people are very normal about things
You can't just...you can't just make Poison Ivy into a playable hero in my card game!
The Celtic word for Oak is “daur”, the origin of the modern English word “door”, and thus the concept of doorways to otherworlds was bound into the very meaning of oak trees for the Ancient Celts. The Tree of Life (Crann Bethadh) is an tree in a graphic representation of harmony and balance, nature’s power coming together in an intertwined lacework of beauty, symmetry, and resilience. Oak trees, with their impressive size, longevity, and strength were worshipped and seen as sacred beacons for the gods. The Tree of Life embodies the interconnected nature of the world. The branches spread in a canopy of sky, while the roots reach down into the earth, and both meet in the trunk as well as the boundaries of the symbol in a singular weaving. For @far-side-skies‘ October bird challenge, which this month is a cassowary, I present to you...
Verdance, Queen of Nature
(I’d already designed her before the birb was revealed, so I mostly just used it for the colour palette)
As long as the world possesses rich soil and clean air, Verdance shall remain. Blossoms sprout from the ground in her wake, trees bloom and fruit at her touch, and should she command it, immense roots will spring from the ground and annihilate any who threaten to hurt her children. Should you please her, she will grant you a blessing in the form of a seedling, and if you plant it and care for it, it shall reward you with a thousand more blessings in the future.
Anger her and you will discover just how terrifying nature can be when tested.
I forgot that finishing verdance meant I would need to make a graphic for it too
Well I started this out trying to draw a commission example, but I, a fool, chose my own character and have drawn so little in the past several months that “restraint” just wasn’t on the table So uhh, here’s an embellished rendition of a moment from this past weekend’s test session of our new bug game, in which Merry shoved her fist in an automaton’s face and pulled out its (extremely hot) power source Merry is the pinnacle of “pure of heart, dumb of ass”
can’t sleep? sketch out that light and dark painting concept that’s keeping you awake and scream
