“Mmm.” Was his answer, just a simple noise. Should he explain everything to her? Would it just be a waste of breath? Probably. But when there’s a monologue needed...
“I should be really pissed, but the truth is, this was how my life was going to end up anyways. So... Thanks I guess?” Pulling out a cigarette, he was intent on smoking in front of her for the moment. Their conversation could only last until the flame on the end of the stick burnt out.
“For me, after Beacon fell, I was sent back home to my parent’s very fancy and prestigious estate far away from what had happened and protected from any and all Grimm. Lucky me.” He spoke sarcastically.
“Then, after a little while, I usurped my fathers company from him and now here I am. CEO of a wealthy company making gun parts and slowly funding Vale’s recovery back to what it was. Yay me.” It was exactly what he didn’t want in life and in no way did he want praise or pity. He just wanted... Hell, he didn’t even know at this point in his life.
“What about you? I’ll say our current standing together is strictly neutral so... Yea.” Still, he was very awkward socially.
