He'd actually been planning this for a while. One month? Two? Pretty amazing, considering how limited Kardia's attention span was most of the time, but he made exceptions for people every so often and more often than not the person he made exceptions for was Dégel (whether he knew it or not). Of course, even though he'd gotten the idea some time ago...he'd ended up leaving it to the last minute. He'd dozed off and jerked awake at the sound of Dégel (probably Dégel) opening the door. Kardia fumbled with the matches, lighting the little oil lamp to get his little shoddily made magic lantern going.
"Surprise! I bet you thought I forgot!" To be honest he'd meant to do this last night, or this morning midnight rather, but he'd fallen asleep.
It wasn't perfect, but it worked, the magic lantern projected splashes of green and blue light on the wall of Dégel's bedroom. 'Borrowing' all those books from Dégel had paid off. "It's the aurora...well, sort of." He hadn't exactly seen one, but he'd listened when Dégel told him about it.
Kardia tugged at his sleeve, " Do you like it?"
