Do they still make film? Why use an antique camera? Why black and white? Isn’t digital easier? How many photos can you make with that? I try to be polite and have a number of replies: I know people who paint with oils I could drive to the grocery store in a VW/Honda/Tesla but I’d rather ride my bike I still read books Computers can make music but they don’t sound like Louis Armstrong It goes on My main thought is I love NOT seeing an image of the world too close to the original. Most digital images are sharp, brightly colored reflections of what my eyes see. An old camera, black and white film often give me unexpected gifts in a view of the world I can’t see with my eyes, or completely predict.
