so on a scale of 1 - 10 how inappropriate would it be for me to liveblog my first time reading the Torah
but no forreal though. i bought a study Torah recently and finally got around to sitting down and actually starting to read it and it’s a huge thing for me and so much of it is so relieving bc all of the horrible things i’ve heard people say about it trying to bash religion is just? incorrect? like all of the “awful hurtful shit” that comes from it is really nice stuff being read by awful hurtful people. it’s constantly being purposefully twisted to hurt others and while that’s terrible it’s so so so relieving to read it and know that it’s not meant to be that way
also nobody told me that in Genesis, among everything else that was created God also made GIANT SEA MONSTERS like why do we leave that out when talking about creation bc that’s so amazing????
