So I’ve spent my last two days with Veronica Bertolini and she’s not so bad... we had a lot of fun!

Veronica: Rio taught me a lot, it didn't go as i hoped because of too many errors, but i learned to get on with head held high cause work brings results, and partecipate in olympics is been fantastic. Olympic games taught me that you don't have to end things with regrets, but with satisfaction and pride Elena: Veronica, after olympics, has grown in maturity, she approached to new program and she's back into play. It's not easy to find new stimulus after olympics and for another round. We renewed the program, there's been an evolution and there will be a new Bertolini on the floor. It's a challenge, but that's the sport. Main thing it's a challenge to herself: we'll face up to every competition like in 2013, it's a new beginning and let's see what will happen. After olympic a relax moment it's normal, but she's back in the gym with right mentality, as always there will be a lot of work to do. Veronica: it's been hard to go back in play, i not deny, after having caught your dream, you need stimulus to go on. A lot of olympic gymnasts left competitions, instead i decided to try again, with serenity i'll try this new code, with a new program and i'll see what will happen. Rhythmic gymnastic is the source of my happiness, without it i would never have reached my child dreams, i would not have traveled in so many places. There are so many gymnasts who work really hard to get what i got, gymnastics is my life. Elena: i think (i hope), like for all coaches and gymnasts, it's a love/hate relation. There are hard times and gratifications. She's a hard worker, introvert although you wouldn't think... sometimes insecure, but this great experience gave her the motivation, like before. Veronica: Like it's normal for every gymnast, i love and hate my coach. When everything goes well it's all happiness, but otherwise there are moments so and so. I love her, she brought me up till now, and i think it's the same cause she spent so many time on me, even in bad times, it means she care about me. When someone cares so much about the other, joy and sadness are higher. New code is very interesting, i like that there are no more the fiches: you can make variations, you can regain from errors, and maybe you can think up something at the time. Many difficulties have lost value, and you must work harder on apparatus. My strong points were on cleanliness and difficulties and i had to make changes. I think it will be funnier. I like a lot my new routines, more than old ones, maybe because i worked for so long on that routines that i needed change. I changed musics and compositions, i'll have "Everybody" (Backstreet Boys) for hoop and a "Il Ballo di San Vito", a taranta (typical music from Apulia) for ribbon. For ball i'm back to an intense piano version of "Caruso". Elena: I hope she'll have other rewards, so she'll end her career in the best possible way, like she wants. We'll go step by step, she has big dreams and i hope she'll be able to achieve them Veronica: My desires? First of all, the world championship, that will be in Italy and it will be really exciting. In the future i want to stay in gymnastics, i'd like to become a good coach and to have a judge career like Elena, it brings a lot of satisfaction and knowledge in gymnastics
