Back in late October 2019, I was fortunate to be brought on by Steve Johnson and Amber Talarico to work on Slipknot’s NERO FORTE music video. I assisted in creating the cocoons, the silicone webbing and latex viens, and performing other lab duties. Aside from that, I was also the test model for the cocoons and it's great to see much more coverage of our work then in the previous video. Shop crew consisted of Cameron McPeters, Gladys Ramirez, Veronica Vasquez, Izzy Granack, Shaina Paulson, Madeline Graham, Carlos Gomez, and Leslie Felix. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to set, it was a fun experience and I got to hang out at Rick Baker’s on Halloween. While working on a Slipknot video is something, it truly was a dream come true to get to work with one of my heroes. Thanks for bringing me on board, Steve.

Oooh, a little love for our girl Veronica, I love to see it.

5. Do they have a “tell” for when they’re lying?

Veronica is actually pretty damn good at lying on the fly. If you’re paying very close attention, you might see her glance at or share a nod with her siblings before firing one off, this is code for “yes, get us out of trouble now, please.” But, if she’s on her own, she pretty much doesn’t have a tell.

6. What do they smell like?

Veronica has a citrus-y smell, like lemons and oranges with a hint of sugar, like those really good packages of butter cookies.

7. What is their hair texture like?

Veronica has 1B hair, at least I think, but I'm not the most well versed on this topic.

I don't know if you've ever felt really thick, straight hair, but it's like that. The kind of hair that you just can't do anything to, that's too limp to style and too heavy to really show damage. (This is also my hair texture, can you tell? XD)

Kira and Veronica: Former engineers with eldest daughter syndrome who fell in love with people from a different dimension.

Kira and Bastrop: Horror nerds with adult ADHD and an annoying tendency to take on way too many projects at once.

Kira and Mirabel: Former weird little girls who aren't girls anymore that use humor and charm to distract from how terrifyingly competent they are.

Veronica and Bastrop: Reluctant voices of reason who spend too much time worrying about how their friends are doing and not enough time worrying about how they're doing.

Mirabel and Bastrop: Aroaces who are done with everyone's shit and actually know how to mind their own business.

Mirabel and Veronica: People who actually understand how deadlines work and remember that human beings need to eat.

After we exchanged vows, Chris Jackson, Arthur Lewis, Veronica Vasquez, Olga Merediz, Priscilla Lopez, Robin DeJesus, Karen Olivo, Mandy Gonzalez, Andrea Burns, Janet Dacal--surprised us with an Alex Lacamoire arrangement of Stevie Wonder's Happier Than The Morning Sun. We don't know who was responsible for making the sun come out on the last chorus, but we will never forget it as long as we live. Our gratitude to our friends and family knows no bounds.
