A Magazine: Fire, Fur, and Smoke (2006/2007 Veronique Branquinho)
A quick post because it's my birthday and going to eat BELGIAN fries 🍟 A Veronique Branquinho skirt from SS2007 with 2 separate panels, finishes with fribged macramé. Giving incredible movement, as seen on the runway. Now online #veroniquebranquinho #anndemeulemeester #macrame https://www.instagram.com/p/CmWsPimjAF6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
New in: #VeroniqueBranquinho for #Documenta11 (2002) packaway sport parka in fine translucent polyester. . This coat was produced in a limited edition of 300 for #Documenta 11, a renown German arts exhibition. Despite being a commission for a mainstream art event, it is far from generic 'merch' - it has been made by Branquinho's factory in Belgium and exhibits rarely seen complexity. . Last year's resurgence of the 'naively sporty' trend has brought various packaway designs to my attention. Most examples are based on the classic K-Way jacket, where a side pocket is turned inside out to contain the garment and then carried like a waist bag. This concept has been explored to an extent, but few designers have done it justice quite like Branquinho here. . The packaway elements are exposed on the coat's shell and separate to create large cargo pockets, defined by the packaway bag's removable strap. 80's inspired zip pockets (classic Branquinho) and oversize drawstrings add simple detail. Looking closer, the shoulder seams are finished with nice double pintucks and the hood is shaped by multiple darts on its base. . The result is a clever and impeccably executed take on an otherwise standard (if not mundane) idea. Fun! . #endyma (at ENDYMA) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Nu_UgAgQe/?igshid=nrq1yok7gr5u

Veronique Branquinho F/W07 Womenswear
Veronique Branquinho dark grey panelled shorts separated by square net trims the shorts you've been asking about are finally here. The legs are worked open by little squares, making the bottom hem seems like it's floating. That same trim goes along the sides, showing a subtle yet big amount of skin (if that makes sense) Quite audacious for Branquinho, mostly known for classic camels, pleated maxis and prairie princesses. Previously posted with a slashed Vandevorst jumper (which sold) #veroniquebranquinho #fashiondetails https://www.instagram.com/p/CiCzmAvDof_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Spring 2013 was probably the most dreamiest collection of Ann. Sheer robes flowed over the runway, fringed collars added texture while maintaining transparency. Feathers were attached to fine metal rods, mounted on bowler hats much like Alexander Calder's mobiles. Contrasted with the heavier winterwear, it was indeed all about balance. Some of you might remember this fringe necklace that was in store for the wunderful duration of 10 minutes. But now the underlaying top is available. Layered here underneath a full length dress shirt, it has the exact same ombre going from black to white. Perhaps it is not the season, but with the corona vaccin coming, it might be worth investing in a summer wardrobe when we finally get to soak up that vitamin D again. No, this is not a euphemism, I literally meant vitamin D from the sun. #anndemeulemeester #anndemeulemeesterarchives #avantgardefashion #darkfashion #veroniquebranquinho https://www.instagram.com/p/CITBtKSgbMn/?igshid=ilfie6xmm4ay
