Hey what was a fanfiction that you thoughts What's going to be bad what was actually good

You know, I try not to go into a fan fic thinking, "Oh, this is going to be bad." Granted, I try to keep a- What's it called, a 'suspension of disbelief'? -on fics and other fan works. They're not canon, nor are they trying to be. They're just a story told with characters we're familiar with.

For what I thought was bad but turned out to actually be good. Mm... I'd say, The Thespian and The Popstar by an_undead_gamer_45. It's a Helluva Boss Veroxxie fanfic about, well, Moxxie dating Verosika. I guess I didn't know what I was expecting, but a fic about two people falling in love, complete with ups and downs? Yeah, that stuff's good. Especially with the comedic bits AND how nobody feels out of character.

And because I know it's going to be asked, I'll toss in a freebie for what fic I thought was going to be good, but turned out bad. The answer to that is a Star VS The Forces of Evil Markapoo fic, that I will leave unnamed to prevent the author from feeling called out. The premise is good and starts with an interesting fan character that I was genuinely curious about. But then the focus shifted more and more to Marco to the point that he's pulling off cliché BS that doesn't really make any sense. I stopped at around the point when the other characters were made horribly worse. Like trying to stop his wedding because they're jealous kind of worse.

But yeah, that's my take on good and bad fics. Obviously, there are worse fics out there, and there are better ones. My advice to any fic writer is to keep writing, read and be inspired, and to never stop loving what you do.
