Quite frankly, this had been one of the only events in the last few months that Tate had dreaded attending simply due to the fact that Chessie had been “hosting” it, if you could even call it that. The only reason they even bothered to show up was to show support for HAUS of Freya and Ms Ophelia Atanas herself. Tate had took it upon themselves to glance upon Arlo’s artwork throughout the gallery and despite their disinterest in the event, Tate had to admit that he was quite the artist. After Tate became familiar with his work, they took it upon themselves to treat themselves to a flute of champagne and retreat into the quietest corner of the room in attempt to avoid anyone they did not want to interact with.
Faux smiles and forced charm came far too easy to her, reminding her of being a teenager at whatever gala her mother hosted that week. Even years later, she could turn it on like a light switch, working the room with ease, having easy conversations with investors, buyers, and various fashion houses that came to visit. Stay sober, she had to remind herself, resisting to the urge to grab another champagne flute, or hide in the bathroom to do lines. Her best way of keeping herself in line was consistently moving, not letting herself get caught in the company of anyone who couldn’t be a business venture. She only paused her routine to take a moment to look at the art, sipping slowly on her first -- and only -- champagne flute.
The Haus of FREYA cordially invites you to attended the opening of POISONED YOUTH, an art gallery created by Arlo Vasquez, on the evening of NOVEMBER 16TH at STUDIO V. POISONED YOUTH is an art installation inspired by lovers, male and female, past and present, of the artist. This gallery is meant to show the peaks and valleys of love, of the poison that can come from it. The front of the studio will feature Arlo’s work, and a lounge has been created in the back half to allow guests to unwind and enjoy a cocktail. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the charity of each buyers choice. The dress code for this event is black tie, and the food will be catered by Howl. This event is sponsored by Haus of FREYA, and hosted by Francesca Abernathy.

ACT II!!!!! IT’S HAPPENING!! Hello my loves! This is the opening event for Act II, and should be the first public outing for the Act II characters. All characters are invited to attended, but if you feel your character would not be welcomed (We all know Chessie doesn’t have a great track record), they’re more than welcome to crash the party. This event will begin on the evening of NOVEMBER 16TH, AT 10 PM EST. It will be going on until MIDNIGHT EST, NOVEMBER 19TH. So, until Sunday at midnight. All starters should be tagged with #VERPEVENT4!
This event will be followed by a game changing plot drop, of course. We have to kick of Act II right, so the plot drop will be posted Sunday afternoon, and will be causing a large change to the group and character’s involved. I can’t give much more information other than that, as I don’t want to ruin the surprise! All I have to say is brace yourself! We’re about to embark on one bumpy ride.
She was stressed, to say the least. With Arlo’s surprise connection to Wren, a drunk Sebastian, and plenty of charming a shit load of people she didn’t care about -- Chessie was about to reach her wits end. Tonight had been a success from the surface, having gotten the seal of approval from the Boss Lady herself, so she didn’t have much more to worry about. Of course, no night would be complete if she didn’t find herself in the company of Rowan, stirring up some sort of trouble. “You clean up nice,” she comments easily as she approaches him, “No food stains either? Color me surprised.” Chessie teases with a laugh, before arching a brow, getting to the point. “Please tell me you brought some party favors. I can’t handle one more conversation with some pretentious art collector while sober.”
Club Blur has never been a home for the faint of heart. It’s known as a place for drinks, drugs, and dancing -- Nothing less, nothing more. Of course, the weekends are the busiest nights for the club, patrons spending hours in line in the cold in the hopes to get in, maybe have to chance to run in to one of the owners, to be seen on the cover of Page Six, or even Gossip Girl. Friday nights are no exception -- The dance floor packed shoulder to shoulder, your only chance to get a drink at the bar is through pushing someone else out of the way. The music is loud, the lights are dimmed, and the dancers haven’t missed a beat. The night is a blur.
Then the smoke starts, the music cuts --- And all hell break loose.
Someone lets out a scream, coming somewhere from a private room, or near where the bar back sneaks a smoke -- Fire.
BREAKING --- Manhattan hot-spot ‘Club Blur’ destroyed in arson.
Details are still coming in, but Commissioner Smythe has released the following statement regarding Friday night’s incident: “What happened here was done with intention, and we can only assume that now, based on what we’ve gathered, that this was arson. Due to faulty wiring and a lack of proper fire alarms in the back half of the building, the fire spread from the storage rooms and through private rooms only to be noticed by club patrons once it reached near the dance floor. Among the injured includes one of the Blur owners, Sebastian O’Riley, as well as Howl chef Tate Rodriguez. Both have declined giving statements at this time.
There is only one confirmed casualty, who NYPD believe is the fire starter. From what is understood by the scene left behind, the arsonist started the fire, only to be stuck in the backroom with it do to a faulty lock. The NYPD can now confirm that the casualty and arsonist in this tragic event is Celia Santos. The motive behind this event is still unknown. The Santos family has declined to give a statement at this time.”
A quick bit of OOC information: While this is posted at the last part of the event, this would not be known information until after the event ends! As the event ends, this information will have been out for roughly a day in RP time.
Wren had mostly just been making small talk with anyone and everyone he came across, feeling like New York was much more a small town than any of the actual small towns he’d actually visited before. The same faces showed everywhere, the same conversations heard everywhere, and even though he knew this was much more difficult for his sister than himself, Wren too had been having some difficulty tonight, with all that was going on his life.
When he heard yet another voice behind him, he turned around to see who was talking and then offered them a smile. “Yes, it does look great. I’m very proud of my sister, I don’t think I could’ve pulled this off as well as she has.”
The night had gone off without a hitch -- No sex tape interrupting, no scandals or screaming matches. At least, the latter hadn’t happened yet. The night was still young, and with a new discovery under her belt, Chessie was becoming more and more nervous it wouldn’t remain as high society as the night began. Spotting her brother, she made a beeline to him, quick to loop her arm in his, with an apologetic smile to whoever he’d been talking to -- She gave an excuse of a ‘family emergency’ and that she needed to borrow him. There was a mild amount of truth behind her words as she pulled him along, finding themselves in back hallway. Alone.
She got right to the point as she stopped in front of him, voice remaining hushed but stern. “Arlo,” she begins, the name sounding accusatory rather than a statement. “Explain. Now.”
