Caustic lets out an almost comical wheeze as his legs move under him. He had liked to think he had gotten so much easier at the more... athletic part of the games. Something that he had not taken into account at first, but, in hindsight, should have. He’s not as fast as some of the others, but he’s getting there.

And then there is Octane.

Caustic mocks her under his breath. There’s no real heat in his voice, but he’s starting to get tired of her little quips that she keeps throwing out.

It’s an automatic response that Caustic gives her as he looks her over, up and down. She doesn’t look too pleased to see him. Which she hasn’t for some time, but time heals all wounds. Or at least that’s the saying. Caustic never really cared for things like this, but he wont deny he feels a form of... protective instincts over her. The universe would be lost without her genius to help push the rest of humanity further than it’s been.

But, he has nothing else to add. There’s really nothing else to say, because he hadn’t really expected to open up to her, much less anyone, either. Maybe it’s the pain killers still pumping through his veins, or maybe the headache he acquired from getting his head bashed in by the butt of a gun. Either way, Caustic is sure that it was a mistake it mention his home planet like that, and make comparisons out loud from the structures before them to the ones he grew up with.
