Hibiya was caught off guard, seeing Konoha in the rain... mostly because Konoha shouldn’t exist anymore. “K-Konoha?” He asks, almost hesitantly, his shock temporarily throwing him out of his thoughts.

Hibiya was curled up in the corner of his bedroom at the base, loud sobs coming from the boy, not caring if anyone came into the room. Not with the news he just received.

A bit after the whole heat haze loop thing and Kuroha’s defeat, Hibiya had another reason to break. Before he could return home, he was called on his cellphone and was informed his parents had died, just a few days after August 15th.
The poor boy’s mental health plummeted, not completely, but he was a wreck. The Mekakushi Dan tries to help him through it, but considering the fact he’s twelve, child welfare tries to take him to an orphanage. This was avoided- but how it was is another story.
