there's a moment where the gentle natured druid's entire body freezes, then stiffens before only their head moves. their head very slowly turns to look at sszefryn, mismatched eyes narrowing as their jaw tightens. it's clear that something in the exclamation has struck a nerve, bringing out a rarely seen side of astra. the offense and ensuing anger is very clear, even before they open their mouth to speak. "of course i can read." the tone is icy, each word bitten off from between clenched teeth. their eyes seem to blaze brighter than normal, the anger seeming to feed into the flames of their irises.
they suddenly straighten themselves to their full height, which is only a couple of inches taller than the cleric, and turn their body to fully face him. "do you really think so lowly of me that you think that i can't read? i may not be as schooled as gale, but i do have the basics down."
