Kanden practically bounces down the ramp of their ship, with only a wave to acknowledge her Master’s admonishment and instructions on where to meet later. She’s glad they’re back home again. She loves seeing different planets, and meeting all kinds of races and creatures. It’s the travel in-between she isn’t fond of. Space, did ships feel small. Especially after the wide corridors and high halls of the Jedi Temple. And she never could shake off the feeling of the emptiness outside the ship, whenever they traveled. It makes her jittery.
Knowing she still has time before she has to report in with her Master, she brightens, and starts running down the hallway. She knows she’ll find her best friend at this time of day. It’s about time they met up again. They haven’t seen each other in weeks! And she knows he and his Master aren’t on a mission right now.
Then she remembers that Jedi don’t run in hallways, they stride. She immediately slows her steps, and schools her face into what she hopes is an appropriate Jedi expression. It involved pressing her lips together as much as she could and raising her chin in the air. A passing Twi’lek catches her eye and smiles. Kanden reddens. She doesn’t care how she looks anymore; she flees before the other Jedi could laugh outright. Her lekku are certainly swinging in amusement.
She finds Jakob before she actually makes it to the Archives. Relieved, she waves, momentarily forgetting the poise and decorum her Master has tried hammering into her head these past few years.
“Jakob!” she calls, a little too gleefully, too loudly.
