“Who pissed in your cereal?”
[ OPEN STARTER. ]
“Do you ever wonder about that other self that made the right choices and found happiness?” Tink’s finger traced the rim of her whiskey glass. The question went out to no one in particular. Her mind seemed to wander off more often than not whenever she was starting to feel the effects of alcohol. You’d think she had learned her lesson when Regina ripped a new one months ago, but with the anniversary of Lyra’s passing coming in hot, Tink hadn’t really think about the consequences of getting drunk in a random bar that night. If anything, it was a release she needed in order to not feel stifled by life itself.

☾Kil rolled her eyes at the man, waving him off dismissively.☽
“Masrur can handle himself, you just don’t want to have to fight a Fanalis. Why did you even come here if you were going to do something like this? There’s like...”
☾She paused to count on her fingers, a little frown on her lips.☽
“Thirty-seven other popular amphitheaters in Reim...”

❀Technically, Nomi’s existence was supposed to be a secret. King Sinbad knew about her, so did all of his generals, and any magicians in the palace as they would be able to see her rukh, but other than that she’d been told not to show herself to other people. There were various reasons for it: Drakon said she might accidentally scare people again, Ja’far said she was safer if less people knew about her, and Sinbad said they never knew when having a secret ghost in the family could come in handy.❀
❀In any case from all parties involved she’d been given strict instructions not to reveal herself to the Kou prince and princess and she really had been diligent about avoiding them but while she was floating through the palace she’d gotten lost and ended up in the prince’s quarters.❀
❝Uh oh.❞
❀When she realized she’d taken form out of habit she squeaked and tried to hide her rukh again but it wasn’t working for whatever reason, likely because she was panicking. Yamuraiha always said she ought to calm down to control herself but she just couldn’t when she was so scared.❀

❀Nomi hated rain in general, because it made her cold and sick and that's why those scary people were going to try and hurt her before. The planet as a whole seemed not to want her, as it tried to hurt her. Now that she was at the Sindria Trading Company and not outside at the elements' mercy, she felt a little less scared of the rain. The thunder still scared her though, why was it so loud?!❀
❀When it had started she'd gotten scared and curled up where she was, flinching and squealing whenever another crash sounded. When he scooped her up, she hugged him tightly and buried her face against his shoulder. When he spoke she peeked up at him, tears threatening to spill over.❀
❝Why is the sky screaming at us? Did-did we do something bad?❞

☾Kil wasn’t even sure why she was doing this. She wasn’t required to, in fact she had so many other more important things to be doing. Still, after mercilessly mocking Hakuryuu during the match whilst he got beat into the dirt by Masrur, she’d felt kinda bad for him. In any case, she was now in the small infirmary, bandaging up his wounds.☽
“You can rest here until you’re recovered enough to leave.”
☾She said flatly as she worked; she wasn’t a qualified healer but experience in patching up injuries could be plainly seen from the way she focused, the way she moved quickly and with purpose.☽
“You won’t be paid since you lost obviously and if gladiator is still what you want to be you’re gonna have to starve for a while til you can recover. It’s none of my business but if you ask me,”
☾She paused to looked down at him, giving an expression that almost resembled a smile.☽
“You’d have a lot more luck joining an acting troupe than a gladiator ring. You still get to be in the amphitheater and the pay is still good. We don’t have any here on the island though, you’ll have to scrape up enough money to get back to Napolia but the fares aren’t so expensive on the way back so you should be fine.”
Xiu paused at one of the stalls, her eyes trailing along the goods being sold, before reaching out to let her fingers brush along the fabric, “how beautiful, do you not think?” She asked him, her eyes lifting to find his as she held up one of the dark blue silks towards him to see if it would work. “This would look lovely on you.” (From Hua Xiu @antihxroiism )
He was not sure how she had gotten him into the small bazaar since it was pretty obvious the young lady had been in a bit of trouble. Nitian ErXing was keeping his attention on the area and the people it wouldn't do for someone to get the drop on them here. Like people looking for an absent or missing fairy.
He turned at the tinkling sound of her voice and gave part of his attention to her as she spoke of silks and colors. Emerald eyes crinkled a little in amusement. "I don't know, I wear armor more often than I do silks." he was certain as he said it, this would not lay to rest the conversation. He extended the gloved hand and took the silk in it to examine it with a critical eye. "Do you not think it is an off shade for green eyes?" he asked out of curiosity before he returned the item to her hand.
If she thought, he would have an opinion on a fancy hanfu he would be a disappointment. "You do know I mostly wear armor and carry my blade. Lady?" still, he examined items on the table he preferred greens, golds and blacks. "My preferred colors are green, gold and black." he offered though maybe he should not encourage her.
He had been working out on the farm rebuilding things that needed it. Patching up other things that had caught his attention as needing fixing he was washing up dabbing his face with a towel. He adjusted his sacred ribbon and he turned to regard her with a small smile. "You may ask." he agreed as he dried his hands as well. A head tilt following as she spoke violet eyes were thoughtful as she spoke and he sat the towel in his hands aside as he shook his head a little bit.
"You already know that your MuMu will be annoyed at the idea, and she will fight even me." he said softly. "She is convinced you are still the baby sister she must protect from spiders, and from would be suitors." he said as he considered. "Has someone caught your eye--meimiei ?" he inquired as he motioned for her to walk with him catching Yutu with his hand and resting the blade at his side.
"You should accompany me into town--so we can shop." he stressed. It would be so they could talk freely and not have other's wanting to listen in and tell her mother. He doubted they would tell Mulan, but Xiu's mother rubbed Sizhui the wrong way though he hid it well.
"We will get lunch there, and bring something home for dinner tonight." he stated with a wink.
