Loki squinted at the orange sunset sky of the new world he found himself on. It was too bright here, the blue sky of day both strange and painful to look at; with only the early sunrise and late sunset giving him a measure of peace in the harsh lights (And it was only then that he could appreciate the beauty of this realm).
The light here made his head hurt, throb and his eyes ache for the darkness of Jotunheim. It was too hot here too- he uncomfortable in his skin, but he dare not remove the longer layers of the clothes he stole; least he draw attention to himself.
All the same: It was better here. Terrifying, but better. Nobody had threatened to eat him yet. -Yet- anyway. He had been chased off a few times. Yelled at in the strange language of the Midgardians. Had things thrown at him as he tried to find food in trash cans and from abandoned tables (such strange mess halls, to have them scattered about like they were.) But so long as he was quick about his stealing; he could get fine food before it was simply thrown away.
And he was quick - it’s how he had survived as long as he had...
As it was; at this moment, he squatted on top of a roof- watching the sunset through squinted eyes as the bright Midgardian sun set behind the huge metal tower that stood sentinel over the massive city. He had been here for about a week now. A week without father, or other Jotunn. A week without anyone...and he meant to keep it like that. Nobody would take care of a little monster like him anyway; he was sure of it.
So as the small Jotunn boy waited for night to fall; he sank down in the shade of the roof and closed his eyes.
It wouldn’t be long before he’d have a little more cover to go find some food and something to drink - and explore his new home a bit more.
Home - because he was never going to return to Jotunheim again...
