“ ‘Course you can, ” the elder ginger said, standing slightly to move some of the books out of the way. He’d surrounded himself in nearly every History of Magic book he could find in the house trying to remember a story from Binns class back in the day. As he continued to skim glossaries and flip pages he started to frown. Fred was being awfully quiet. Bill didn’t want to pry. He was known as the cool brother after all. He let his siblings come to him if they needed anything. But after another two minutes of almost pure silence he couldn’t take it. He spared a glance at the younger. “Everything alright?” He flipped a page.

There. That was safe. Not prying like his mother. It was open. Fred could tell him as much or as little as he wanted.
