CARING FOR THE SICK PROMPTS.
i found this list and kinda fed into it each time i got the flu or a migraine, and u know what, it's just me revealing just how much i love the caring threads and the soft threads and the fondly exasperated "let me help you" threads! use at your pleasure, DO NOT ADD TO THE LIST NOR EDIT IT! i will be changing it accordingly!
" i found you passed out in the kitchen. you wanna stop working yourself so hard? or do i need to keep hitting the gym to carry you to bed every day? "
" you're burning up. "
" your neighbour called me and said you could use a nurse. looks like they were right, too. "
" you were told to take it easy, so... yeah. this is kinda on you. "
" you took a sick day. you NEVER take a sick day. so yeah, i got worried, and i figured i'd come over and keep an eye on you. "
" you texted me a long and incoherent text that held about 90% of the emoji list and about four different languages. figured it wouldn't hurt to drop by and see how you were doing. "
" how long have you been sick for? and don't lie. "
" you look like hell. "
" i brought you some soup; let me heat some up for you? "
" okay. it's time you went to the hospital. "
" hey… hello there, sleeping beauty. you gave me a bit of a scare yesterday. how are you feeling? "
" i swear, if you even think of getting out of that bed… "
" you know when i said to call if it's an emergency? a fever is most DEFINITELY considered an emergency! "
" if you think you're going to work like this, you better think again. "
" don't worry. my family swears by this remedy; just let it work its magic and you'll feel good as new in no time. "
" I don't care about getting sick. i'm not leaving you until you're back to full health. "
" you didn't stop to think that this might happen when you're burning the candle at both ends? "
" yeah, I can play the role of nurse AND say "I told you so" at the same time, actually. "
" you better drink every last drop of this tea, no matter how disgusting it is. "
" i told my boss it was an emergency so they've given me a full week to look after you. "
" quit being so stubborn and get into BED! "
" what part of doctor's orders hasn't sunk in yet? bed rest! for the WEEK! "
" right, where do you keep your saucepans? i'm going to make you my famous noodle soup. it's a cure-all, i'm telling you! "
" hey, unless you're going to the bathroom or the sofa, I don't want to see you out of that bed. got it? "
" when are you gonna start letting people look after you, huh? "
" i know, i know, i turned off all the lights once i figured you had the migraine. you want some tea? water? "
" don't be mad, but i saw your fridge, and... it frightened me. so i've taken you back to my place, and i'm gonna get deliveroo to bring some groceries to your place tomorrow. okay? "
" i know your appetite is a little off, so i ordered in a whole tonne of options. just try a little bit of something, please? for me? "
" i've brought half a pharmacy, enough movies and boardgames to last us a decade, and every single snack i could fit into the basket at the grocery store. so sit your butt down, eat your soup, and try and make the most of your bed rest for the next week, will you? "

MCUCHALLENGE YEAR OF CELEBRATIONS - GIFTOBER
Tony had that look: the one that said he’d been up for twenty-seven hours, living exclusively off caffeine, ego, and the lingering thrill of an unfinished idea. The lab looked like it had been through a small, elegant apocalypse. Holograms flickered, tools were everywhere, and the faint smell of something vaguely burnt hung in the air.
“Before you say anything,” he announced, voice carrying that mix of bravado and pure self-defense, “yes, I’m still alive, and no, the fire suppression system didn’t technically need to go off. It was more of a… creative decision. You know, for ambiance.”
He glanced up at her like a kid caught sneaking cookies at two a.m., dark eyes glinting with a mix of charm and guilt. “You’re here to yell at me, right? Or, wait! Let me guess. It’s my turn to attend the very important meeting I scheduled and then forgot existed?” He gestured vaguely toward the ceiling. “JARVIS tattled, didn’t he? My own AI, betraying me for you. Can’t blame him, though. You’re terrifying when you want to be. Gorgeous, but terrifying.”
He picked up one of the scattered tools and turned it in his hand like it was an excuse. “In my defense, I was this close to figuring out the new suit’s thermal dispersal pattern before… okay, before I may have accidentally welded my coffee mug to the workbench. But that’s science, babe. Progress requires sacrifice.”
He flashed her that boyish grin; the one that had gotten him out of a hundred situations and into a thousand more. “C’mon, don’t look at me like that. You’re doin’ the thing again. The ‘you’re impossible, Tony’ look. It’s adorable. Makes me wanna misbehave more just to see it again.”
Then, softer, almost sheepish: “Also, I might’ve forgotten to eat. Again. Which means technically, this is all your fault, because you weren’t here to remind me that normal people consume food before sunrise.”
He set the tool down, took a slow step toward her, and held up both hands in surrender, grease-stained, hair a mess, still somehow managing to look devastatingly pleased with himself. “Look, I’ll make you a deal. You drag me outta here- preferably to somewhere with real air and less chance of spontaneous combustion, and I’ll let you lecture me about my work-life balance the whole way. I’ll even pretend to listen.”
He gave her that stupidly endearing grin again, the one that turned his sarcasm into something almost sweet. “See, I can be reasonable. I’m like a golden retriever with a particle accelerator! Give me attention and snacks, and I’ll follow you anywhere.”
A beat passed before he added, teasing, “Though if you were here just to tell me how good I look covered in machine oil, that’s fine too. I mean, people pay good money for this rugged inventor aesthetic.”
Then, quieter, still playful, but warm, honest beneath the wit, “Seriously, though. Come here. I missed you. And if I’m gonna stop for the night, I’d rather do it with you around. You make the world feel a little less… loud.”
He paused, eyes bright with mischief again. “Also, full disclosure. If you leave before I’ve had a snack, I will eat a screwdriver. Don’t test me.”
@strawberryallergic
Pepper never knew what she was going to find when she went down into the lab. Once she'd found him hanging from a machine he'd been stuck in for over an hour by the time she'd gotten there. Sometimes there were flames. Often there was just pure chaos but she always figured it all made sense to Tony. He thrived off chaos.
This time as she carefully made her way into the lab she eyed everything. She looked at the water puddles around the room and the welded mug. She made a mental note to order him a new one. He liked that mug. She looked at a random arm piece laid on the table as if she could figure out what it did if she looked at it long enough. Tony continued to rattle off excuses.
In reality she was only there to make sure he was still alive. It was still night. Or rather early morning if she pushed it. She hadn't seen him since early the day before when he'd excused himself to his lab. She'd checked with JARVIS throughout the day and hadn't been too concerned until he hadn't come up to bed. She'd fallen into a fitful sleep. It was like she knew he hadn't come up and joined her even in her dreams. Finally she'd given up and called JARVIS, who found him still in the lab.
Pepper'd made a pit stop to the kitchen where she'd grabbed an apple and water bottle. He really did need to hydrate better.
Tony continued to ramble, sounding to most normal. But she could detect the tired in his voice, just below the surface. She'd come to realise the more the talking the more tired he was. And he was just going on and on..
Finally she stopped in front of him. One hand set the water bottle onto the table in front of him and she handed him the apple. "Do we need to go out for food?," she asked, a knowing look on her face.
Her free hand moved to cup his cheek, thumb wiping at a bit of oil on his face. "While I do like the whole ruggedly-handsome-inventor look you've got going on, I think this inventor needs to take a break."
WIRE DROP. Pepper Potts, Sharon Carter, and Dove.
I’m at work for another three hours. Feel free to message any of these guys as it is a slow day.

OOC. I'm wanting to make Jessica Chastain as an OC. Probably a younger sister to Pepper Potts. Would anyone be interested in playing with her? Or helping me plot her out? She feels fun.

PROMPTS FROM LABYRINTH * assorted dialogue from the 1986 film, adjust as necessary
that's not fair!
you say that so often, i wonder what your basis for comparison is?
it's only forever. not long at all.
give me the child.
i have been generous up 'til now. i can be cruel.
generous? what have you done that's generous?
everything that you wanted, i have done.
you cowered before me.
i have turned the world upside down, and i have done it all for you.
i am exhausted from living up to your expectations.
i move the stars for no one.
i have fought my way here to the castle.
look what i'm offering you.
just fear me. love me.
do as i say.
you have no power over me.
you're horrible.
let's handle this thing logically.
may we have your permission?
how you turn my world, you precious thing.
i can never remember the line.
she'll never give up.
your eyes can be so cruel, just as i can be so cruel.
i've brought you a gift.
did you say hello?
you don't by any chance know the way through this labyrinth, do you?
come inside.
don't go on.
go back while you still can.
this is not the way.
soon it will be too late.
don't pay attention to them.
i'm sorry, i'm just doing my job.
don't expect a big reaction.
the path you take will lead you to certain destruction!
you're him, aren't you?
i didn't mean it.
this tastes strange.
ah, what have we here?
in 9 hours and 23 minutes... you'll be mine.
what do you mean "help?"
you're hurting!
would you like us to let go?
come on, which way?
we haven't got all day.
was that wrong?
i need you, [name].
i don't know why, but every now and again in my life... for no reason at all... i need you. all of you.
what did you have to go and do a thing like that for?
you kissed me!
go back to your room.
what have i done? i've lost my only friend. that's what i've done.
it bit me!
does anyone want to play a game of scrabble?
unlock the door!
throw down your weapons.
i can bear it no longer!
i have to face him alone.
that's the way it's done.
what's the matter, my dear?
what kind of position is that?
the way forward is sometimes the way back.
it's very rude to stare.
i was just wondering which door to choose.
what were you saying?
wait, i can't understand you.
it's not fair!
call out the guards!
you're going the wrong way!
i can conquer this mountain!
it seems like we're not getting anywhere.
it seemed solid enough.
you know your problem? you take too many things for granted.
thanks for nothing, [name].
i think we've got them surrounded.
things are not always what they seem in this place.
what choice have you got?
it's hopeless asking you anything.
don't try to embarrass me.
I’m going to go mobile for a little while. Feeling too stressed over IRL things/people to write anything big right now. Hit Shar or Pepper up on wire. I need a distraction..
