↬      ♚ It had been so long since he had wandered these lands, since he wandered these worlds and places. Still so familiar, the screams of nightmares singing to him like silent songs, the familiar pathway under his feet. He had travelled the world but there was no place like home no home like the place he first came from the shadows and as he was here he figured it would be more fun to visit some old friends, one whomes nightmares had kept him fed and happy for so long. So easy he found herself into her bedroom indulging in the familiar scent. So familiar those nightmares that filled his stomach the expressions of fears on her face. How it delighted him, how it had delighted him in the past and still would now. Everyone has a favorite dish and her nightmares were high up on his lown list. His hands stroking her hair and her cheek as he closed his eyes to the savoring darkness. “Wakey wakey, little princess..” His voice was like a felines purr, soft with seduction the grin on his lips wicked.

Nightmares

Pain was something that Dahlia had become accustomed to ever since her kidnapping. It had been a few days, and for the most part she had still been sleeping and trying to recover. But she had been having terrible nightmares, most of which she saw Spencer’s face, laughing as he hurt her. They seemed so real and they terrified her. Every night since, she woke up screaming and hysterical, and it took everything in her to not just break.

But tonight’s nightmare seemed even worse than the last. Instead of hurting her, he was hurting Cash and Noah, and only when they were dead, he turned to her. As she saw his face in her dream, she woke up, screaming worse than usual, completely devastated, believing that the dream had been real. She didn’t even register Cash, trying to calm her down. “Don’t hurt them, hurt me instead, please,” she begged. “Stop hurting them, stop, please, hurt me instead.”

First Words

Dahlia was quickly getting acclimated to life in the warehouse. It was different than life in the apartment, but she felt like she was managing it quite well, or at least as best as she could. It was nice to have some space outside to play in, unlike in the city, there was grass that she could sit Noah in and he could play with his toys and they could just hang out together outside. It was definitely nice, and the fact that Cash was there was even better.

She had been there for a few weeks, and she knew that in a few days, she was due to go back to see Nate for a few days and she was honestly dreading it. She knew that Cash was as well. But then they would get to be together again, and that was all that mattered. She was laying on a blanket while Noah sat up and played with his ball when she saw Cash walking towards her. Noah saw his dad coming and his face lit up. “Dada!” Dahlia’s eyes widened and she looked at Cash. “Did you hear that?” She asked excitedly.

number one grandpa

Celia was sort of nervous. She was about three months pregnant now and starting to show, but she still hadn’t told her father that she was pregnant. She had a strong feeling that he might suspect something and she knew that there was only so long that she could manage to keep it a secret before he was going to start to suspect it, so she and Nate decided that it would be best to invite him over for dinner and break the news. Even though she knew it was silly, she had painted a beer glass and wrote number one grandpa on it, that she planned to serve him beer in. She thought that in these times, especially in these times, it was important to celebrate the joy and the good things in life. So that was what she was planning on doing. “Is he here?” She asked Nate nervously, a frown on her lips. Everything had to be perfect today. “Dinner’s almost done...or it will be sort of soon...do you think I made enough food?” She fretted, looking over everything as she ran a stressed hand through her hair. “What do you think? Is the flat clean enough?”

Overwhelmed

"Shh...its okay...mommy’s here,” Dahlia soothed as she leaned down and lifted Noah from the crib. She kissed his head a few times as he wailed. It was four in the morning and he wasn’t sleeping. She was worried that he was coming down with something, she didn’t want to do this alone, she didn’t know how to. “Mommy’s right here, Noah, it’s going to be okay,” she promised her son as she felt his forehead. She frowned. He felt warmer than usual. “Are you not feeling well, buddy?” She asked gently. She was back at her and Cash’s flat...she was giving Nate and Celia some time, but it meant that she was really going through this all alone. Of course Jimmy was in the other room...but she didn’t want to bother him. This wasn’t his problem, it was hers, and so she was determined to deal with it on her own. But she felt so completely overwhelmed as she stood in the kitchen and just suddenly broke down. She heard the door open and she looked up. “I think he’s sick and he’s not here,” she sobbed.

Grieving Together is Better than Grieving Alone

Mother’s Day was something that Celia didn’t want to acknowledge very much. It was a touchy day for all of them, she knew that, which was why she was thinking that she should get up early and go to the cemetery before Nate or the rest of the flat woke up. She didn’t really...know what Nate wanted to do for Mother’s Day, which was part of the reason that she thought that she should get her visit out of the way. She knew that some people didn’t like visiting the graves of their loved ones, and that wasn’t exactly something that had ever come up in conversation, so she truly had no idea what to do. Which was how she came to the decision that she should just do it on her own.

Around half past six, she carefully extracted herself from Nate’s bed and carefully started to get dressed, peeking back at him to make sure that he wasn’t waking up. When she finished and quietly tiptoed to the door, she turned back to see Nate staring at her. “Oh,” she said, turning back completely. “Um..I didn’t mean to wake you, i’m sorry,” she apologized.

Risky Business

Dahlia and Cash were spending most of their time together--with Spencer out of the picture, it was easy to spend entire afternoons together, after a mission, or late at night. She knew that it was technically wrong, what she was doing. She did have a boyfriend, and she knew that she did. But...there was just something about Cash that drew her in, that made her feel...alive for once. She wasn’t afraid with him. Which was how she found herself with Cash. She rested her head against him as they lounged in bed. She closed her eyes for a moment and then looked up at him, a smile on her lips. “This is nice, you know. These past couple days,” She shrugged. “But...it would be nice to get out of here,” she said. “Go...out for real.” Even though she knew that it wasn’t a good idea, that Spencer might see.

Moving In

Celia was excited and happy about moving in with Nate, she was a little bit nervous about what it was going to be like, living with Nate as well as Cash and Dahlia. She didn’t know the other two particularly well, she had interacted with them, sure, but she had never spent more than a few hours with them. And it was a little bit intimidating to be moving in to such a...settled house, but she knew that it would work out in the end, and she was still keeping her flat just in case they needed some space, or if they chose to live on their own one day. She liked having the option.

Most of her big stuff, like her furniture, would be staying at her flat, and the rest of her things that would fit at Nate’s was going with her. She had put most of her things into a few boxes, and she was just waiting for Nate to come over so they could bring her stuff over there. When she heard the key in the lock, she smiled and turned to see Nate standing there. “Hi my love,” she greeted.
