Day after Christmas sales were the stuff of dreams for a sixteen year old girl who adored magically crafting her own clothes. Half priced robes of every color could be chopped into a hundred pieces and sewn together to make something new and unique. But this particular day after Christmas, however, was dead quiet as news of the Minister’s fate spread like wildfire through every quiet corner of the community.
Ava Shacklebolt, however, was not afraid. The quiet was relaxing as she sauntered through Diagon Alley alone; a state that her brother would never allow at this time but one that he did not know of. Work was demanding all of his attention, and though he asked her to stay home and keep her eyes on the younger two, she ignored him in favor of her own whims.
With a heavy bag in one hand and her purse in the other, Ava was shocked when a slim-figured woman, also alone, walked towards her. Her brows furrowed and she glanced away, not wanting to draw attention to herself, and pulled her bag up against her shoulder self-consciously. Ava was quiet as she moved, considering calling it a day before Kingsley found out where she really was, her eyes anywhere but on the woman.
