Or you could always try the shooting range; just look for the best (okay, third best after his pop and Aunt Kate) archer there. He’s not very good at taking things seriously, but he’s loyal and will fight to the last breath for his beliefs.

Headcanon: the first time Emilia Lokisdottir saw the ocean on Midgard, she cried at its beauty.

Emilia generally thought of Midgard as fairly dull. The colors weren’t as bright, and ultraviolet and infrared were invisible to humans. They called her crazy when she tried to warn them about an impending heart attack or congratulate them on the life growing within their womb that even they didn’t know about.

But then there was the ocean.

“Where’s the drop off?” she asked, turning to her mother.

Sigyn smiled faintly. “There isn’t one,” she explained.

“What about sending their dead to the Afterlife? What’s the point of their ocean if not that?”

“The ocean spans across the entire realm. It connects everything, all the different parts of Midgard. Their people, their culture, their trade, it all depends on this.”

There was a long moment before Emilia turned back to the sea, taking a deep breath as she did. She closed her eyes, feeling the wind and sea spray hit her face. “Oh,” she finally breathed out, her eyes still shut in an attempt to hold back the tears.
