Wait so okay CYNO STORY QUEST SPOILERS you have been warned
I'm trying to iron out some timeline shit bear with me. So Cyno is younger than Kaveh, correct? And it is implied within Kaveh’s story quest he’s somewhere over 25, probably 27 or 28. So Cyno has got to be around 24-26 if I understand correctly.
In Cyno’s new story quest Cyrus claims he borrowed the Ba fragment (Cyno) for “a decade or so”. So at Cyno’s current age that would mean he was probably at least 13 when he was taken to Sumeru City from the Temple of Silence. Which makes me wonder how coherent he was when Cyrus took him because he mentioned getting sick easily and idk how Cyrus would convince this traumatized kid to leave with him.
Furthermore, it is not stated (That I noticed, at least) how long Cyno was with the temple before getting taken by Cyrus, or how long he was with them before he resonated with the ba fragment. But, when he resonated it was implied he was at least able to walk and understand instructions. So, probably at least a few years old. If I had to place it though probably around 8-9? No clear reason just vibes
Obviously he doesn’t have any clear memories left of the temple rn, but if he truly was a teenager when Cyrus took him it is probable that the lack of memory is more trauma response than purely childhood amnesia.
Sidenote for angst, the timeline is still super blurry (as genshin usually is) but it is very likely Cyno was old enough to understand what was happening when his parents sold him to the ToS. Also no clue what happened to his parents still sooooo still possible for a connection between Cyno and Razor? Do with that what you will.
I greatly enjoyed the lore and Cyno content lmao currently watching CyYu play through it now.
