The Forever Cliché

Why is everyone and everything so obsessed with forever? Whether it's in songs, literature or the media it's something we can't escape. I wish we could accept what we have, and have gratitude for everyday rather than expecting things to stay around for an eternity. I understand the concept of a love that never falters but that is something very rare. There are some things like the sea for example that we look at sometimes and think that maybe it doesn't reach land and that in actual fact it just keeps going. I like that thought and then I wonder why I like that thought. The thing is, no matter what we say, we don't love everything a person does, how they behave everyday. There are things that we struggle to forgive. Whether that makes us good or bad people, I don't know, but it makes us humans and that is all that we are. We are born and then we die but in between we have to try and make the best with what God had given us. We don't need a forever to try to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be.
