Here’s a simple photograph I took that I found to be somewhat eye-catching. The lamp post and tower seem to be going in the same direction, slightly diagonally up and right. This is in stark contrast to the horizontal contrails of the plane coming in from right to left. The presence of all types of lines adds a sense of drama to the overall feel of the photograph, but I think it’s allowed and complemented by the surrounding large empty space of the blue gradient. Having the main subject in the bottom half of the composition, the bordering blue allows your eyes wander, down - up - and around the photo, almost as if you were the plane. Incredibly simple, though I feel one could take inspiration from it that even in design, sometimes less is more than enough.
