okay I’m at the porygon and 1. why do they recognize dusknoir. how often is he going to frozen island and also 2. He’s so insanely good at manipulating others

like we see with grovyle that he twists the knife and appeals to his emotions / plays into his impulses (constantly suggesting that it might be too late for celebi, but there’s this one convenient option for survival (<- lying)), but with the sableye and porygon he’s constantly threatening them. especially with the sableye, he overpowers them and uses his physical strength to intimidate them (punching the stone wall (which shatters!!), grabbing and throwing them)

so it’s interesting to see that he specifically does not do that to grovyle. He knows grovyle doesn’t care about his own life when others are on the line. threats to his own safety don’t scare him. but celebi’s? that’s his worst nightmare.
