Instead of a pack of dogs, Thunderclan is invaded by poachers. The lions become concerned when an increasingly large number of large prey animals like rhinos and elephants start dying. Not only are they dying in such large amounts, but whatever is killing them isn’t eating them, leaving the whole carcass behind save for some strange slashes where the horns and tusks would be. Thunderclan is very unnerved by this, what type of predator leaves all these bodies lying around uneaten? Swiftpaw and Brightpaw think this is their chance. If they can find out what is killing the prey, Bluestar will have to make them warriors. Little do they know they will soon become the prey. The strange felines living in the preserve are well sought after for their beautiful strangely- colored pelts.

Went up to check out the hunters dump on the moor seen as though hunting season is now over. I found 2 piles of about 30 dead pheasants altogether and 1 weasel/stoat, the pheasants were all tied together in braces and were beginning to rot. Snares were also set up around the dump to catch any foxes who tried to get at the dead birds for an easy meal. I'm really not that happy about finding this. The atmosphere was very somber and I am annoyed at what an absolute waste of birds it is. I am not opposed to hunting as a whole, but when lots of birds are shot like this and just left to rot instead of used for food or even decent taxidermy, it doesn't sit right with me. Hopefully I will return when they've rotted down a bit and I can get the skulls and do them justice, instead of their relatively miserable fate on the moor.
