would it be crazy to say that mike’s “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls” wasn’t the only example of him in season 3 repressing himself/projecting and him saying he’s “growing up” in season 3 to will and saying that they’re “not kids anymore” is kind of a metaphor/allegory for him repressing his queerness? like yeah they’re not “kids” so they don’t play dnd but maybe in that sentence there are also undertones of the fact that since they’re not “kids” anymore they can’t get away with showing affection or worrying about what other people think. like they’re scared to love each other because of what the world is teaching them. it was never about dnd.

It's interesting to me that from the time it's introduced, blood screenings to check if someone is a changeling never works and mostly only started being practiced on a mass scale because a changeling (Martok) was pushing for it. In fact I don't think I can recall a single time it's successfully used to identify a changeling in the whole series (surely there must be one I'm forgetting?)

There are way more times where a changeling either passes a blood screening (Martok, Bashir) or it gets used to falsely point the finger at someone else (Eddington, Sisko)

You also see the changeling Bashir proactively suggest that they need to initiate a round of blood screenings because clearly there's a changeling infiltrator on the station
