When the ocean meets the shore...
A Mermay collab I recently did with @unicornia93! We had planned it for Mermay last year, but never got around to it due to other projects taking our attention, but this time we got it done :D Uni drew Suzie and her dog Binky, while I drew Koa. We collaberated on the background.
------ Koa is a gentle giant merman living off the coast from Suzie’s hometown while Suzie is the daughter of the town’s lighthouse keeper. They met as children when Koa’s mother was teaching him to take her place as the next guardian of the waters where they lived. Being a curious boy, it wasn’t long until Koa got himself tangled up with the sweet human girl, and the two became fast friends despite not being able to talk to each other. Suzie remedied that by reading to Koa, and over time he learnt to communicate with her in the human language.
As they grew up, love also began blossoming between them, and Koa finds himself wishing for nothing more than to be close to Suzie and help her protect the coast from his place among the waves, while she guides boats to shore from the lighthouse...
