Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Who needs wings when you have dirt? Mole beetles are one member of the order Coleoptera that has completly lost their wings as a result of spending most of their lives underground, and only coming out during heavy rains. To make up for their lack of flight abilities, they have developed extremely strong hind legs which help them to dig; because males have much larger legs than females, it's also theorized that they may use their legs to attract mates or fight off rivals.
