I completely agree that the system should be changed but it can’t be done retroactively. It is the system they have- the system which is the most common voting system in the world- and any votes carried out under that system should adhere to that system. It isn’t fair by any means and I think it should be changed, just as the system in the UK should be changed, but for the moment it’s the rule and I think it would be morally objectionable to go against it. I wish I could say I support the plan but I just can’t.
