i've been playing a lot of rock band recently so my current favorite song on that is new kid in school by the donnas i think? i think about daya when i listen to it, how fun would it be to have a little au with a bitchy leader of the school daya taking a liking to someone and giving them hints and advice that she normally wouldn't say because she usually likes to watch people figure it out the hard way? but this new kid is different to her, she wants to watch them join her at the top of the school

stupid memory, but at the school i went to from kindergarten to second grade it was common for kids to get "married" to each other. the playground had a little wooden bridge, and so they'd walk down the aisle and everyone would line up on the sidelines to toss leaves/flower petals at the kids getting "married" while one kid who took violin lessons serenaded us in all of his 3rd grade violin glory. i never actually got to be the kid getting fake married, because one kid said that he'd like to marry me when we got older and then changed his mind when he figured out what marriage was because "girls are scary". i wonder how that kid's doing sometimes
