Christian Mølsted (Oct. 15, 1862 - 1930) was a Danish marine painter whose dad was a fisherman and boat carpenter. Mølsted learned all about boats from him and the other locals in Dragør, near Copenhagen. Later he studied at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen and started a production of nostalgic, National Romantic canvases, showing colorful scenes from Danish naval and war history. He also worked for the main Danish shipping companies, DFDS and ØK, documenting their fleets.
