Hello! Here are my top 10 free apps that I’ve used for years that have helped me tons! From organization to study helping apps!
1.ScannerApp: Scanner PDF Document
I use this app almost everyday, I have a lot of written notes that I want to have on my phone o iPad so I can revise them later while I’m on the go or away from my desk, especially when I don’t want to carry my written notes with me all day. So I use this scanner app to scan them and send them through dropbox to all of my devices.
It’s very easy to use and your scanned document can be shared very easily to a bunch of other apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Mail, or you can print them or save them as pdf or jpg documents, whatever your heart desires.
2.Evernote
This is the BEST note taking app I’ve encountered so far, honestly, It has everything I need and it’s very easy to use.
The best part of this app for me is the organizational aspect, I label every note I take and put them in a labeled file, the search tool is super effective, you can search from all the notes you’ve taken or from a specific note, in this app you can do typed notes as well as handwriting notes (great for iPad users) and the search tool can also search from your handwriting notes.
The simple interface and the little extra tools it provides makes Evernote a great note taking app in my opinion.
It also has a document scanner and a voice recording option!
3.PDF Pro 3
This app is awesome for people that read and study from books in PDF, this app not only stores your pdf books or documents but lets you highlight text, write on the document, draw, add images, underline text and much more!
Since printed books are extremely expensive, I have a lot of PDF books and this app lets me study from them, take little notes on the side, resize the text, search specific words on it and even share the documents all across my devices through dropbox or Google Drive.
4.Google Drive
Kind of a no brainer here, this one in my opinion is the best “storage” app out there, it links with all my devices like a pro and it gives you 15GB of free space (which is a lot for being free), easy to use, easy to organize files and very quick to upload and download files.
5.Flash Cards+ (by Chegg)
Very self explanatory, we all know that carrying around 50+ paper flashcards in your bag is very messy and they get wrinkled in no time, so I usually use a flash card maker like this one, very simple interface, easy to use, you can organize your cards based on subjects, add images and it has an audio option (great if you are studying a new language) it’s great for quizzing yourself while you wait in line at a Starbucks.
6.Wikiplus
Every professor says that Wikipedia is not a reliable source, so don’t use this as a source in your thesis!
But wikipedia has honestly saved me a few times, whenever I’m not too sure of a concept, so this app makes it even faster to search on wikipedia.
Wikipanion is also very similar but it’s only for Ipad
7.Wunderlist
If you are like me and only make checklists, this is the app for you.
This app is great to make quick to-do lists, you can also add notes, reminders, set due dates, you can also share your lists with the rest of your devices or with other people.
Very easy to use and it also has a widget feature for easy access to it!
8.Day One Journal
If you are a person that likes writing everything down, from what you ate for breakfast to the things that made you smile that day this app is for you, I find it very hard to have a paper journal, so this app is great for me!
You can add pictures, it has templates you can follow, search based on location, look at your personal feed of all your journal entries, it has a calendar where you can track different subjects you’ve added and if you pay you can have you journal printed how cool is that!
9.LastPass: Password Manager
Let’s be real, we don’t have time to remember every password of every social media platform we have, so this app is great for keeping your password, it has touch ID, have a Chrome extension, easy to use, and it also comes up with passwords for you as well as autofill!
10.Headspace
This isn’t an organizational/ utility app, its a guided meditation app, which I think its one of the best out there, we all know that college can be very stressful and sometimes we forget to take a few minutes to just relax.
This app helps you when you are having a stressful situation or have sleeping problems, it tracks all your meditation and it also has a mini mediation session which is around 3 minutes for those days that you are packed with things to do.
TA-DA! Those are my Top 10 Free apps that I use on a regular basis, I hope you check them out and hopefully they will help you as much as they have helped me.
If you have any questions, want a more detailed description on any of these don’t hesitate to ask me or if you have a free app that has made your life 100 times easier, please, send me the link so I can check it out!
Much Love,
Julie <3
